Clinginess is only a by-product of lack of connection which avoidants are known for. I was known for being clingy and 'insecure' because I wanted more time spent with my partner. She'd put up these boundaries and rules to limit the amount of time we could spend throughout the week. You'll end up making yourself more anxious when your needs aren't being met just to satisfy the avoidant, which will make you more clingy.

Excellently presented and clear. I'm in a relationship like this right now, which has been platonic so far. I really appreciate the help. I've been reading about attachment styles, and I know that I tend towards anxious/preoccupied with this particular friend (and other past relationships) and my friend is definitaly on the avoidant side. I've been learning to take my time and give her the space she needs, and it seems to be helping. Thanks for everything you do to help men like me establish lasting relationships.

Another awesome video. Learning heaps but no opportunity to use yet. Not having much luck getting a woman to go on a date with me. Tried to talk to almost 30 women over the last few weeks and not one date. Asked women at work if they can set me up with a single friend and nothing. Appears I’ll be spending Christmas alone again (no family), I was so confident that I’d get a girlfriend. No choice but to keep trying, couple of weeks left 😊.

How to date an avoidant: DONT. Let them be lonely until they decide to grow up and heal.

I often have the feeling that something that beginns with M, ends with A and has DM in the middle could help those woman a lot. I fu*d up my brain completely over this year because I dated an avoidant girl after being alone for 13 years and having no clue about relationships and stuff, the only thing I got right was waiting to reply....
