Maybe it's just me, but it's still pretty easy to guess people's features under a makeup?! Yes, it's distracting, but they didn't change the jaw shape, the face muscles still move in a typical way of certain face shapes... All that on top of the fact that they're all fairly thin and able-bodied (at least not with a visible disability). I really dislike that ''beauty is more than skin deep'' take that those shows try to push because they fail each time with the usually convential casting.

props to the make-up artists tho, i hope they got paid well. Honestly tho the less complicated the appearance, the less subconscious judgement would happen. Like just put paper bags on their heads, or a box, they cast needs to be all equal in terms of looks for this concept to /actually/ work.

You can't just turn off the way your brain analyzes shapes and proportions, and that analysis doesn't only apply to actual human faces. These masks absolutely will influence people's decisions about whether they're aware of it or not. There IS such a thing as a cute animal or an ugly animal, and the idea of a cute or ugly mask is exactly as real, and _your brain makes these decisions and adjusts how you feel about that person completely outside of the scope of your perceptions_ . That's what subconscious or unconscious means. The plain, featureless masks of "Mr. Personality" would actually work much better (not perfectly, but better,) if this were truly going to be about personality alone. Edit: I unpaused the video and Scoot said basically the same thing.

Idea for Netflix, combine this show with one of those special effects makeup shows and when the guy/girl in the dating show is eliminated, so is the makeup artist. Also change up the makeup each round for a new look every date to keep it fresh.

I hate it when people say that they don’t care about how someone looks because that’s simply not true. It is human nature to be drawn to things we are attracted to. Does personality play a big part in wanting to be with someone? Absolutely! But does appearance matter to us as well? Yup. Whenever this is mentioned, many seem to think “well then everyone just wants a Hollywood model then!” when the truth is that everyone has different preferences of what they are attracted to. You will be beautiful to some, ugly to others, and neutral to another all because of preferences. (And for an example, if you are in a relationship, chances are you think your partner is one of the hottest things out there)

Last week, I saw a game show that was a carbon copy of "A League of Their Own", a game show from the U.K. and, previously, Australia.

I’m unironically looking forward to this show.

I say like a female friend of me once said: "That ``Looks aren't important'' is just something you say to make good looking people think they are interesting as persons and is more than their looks. And not to make them sad when they realize they have no personality and is really fucking boring." There is some truth in that though, I remember when I was younger and when some girls and guys with good looks got tons of girls or guys around them, and very often they were very stiff and boring (and sometimes really stupid) people with zero humor. But they were beautiful and pretty so they got laid anyway. I remember a guy I went to school with who had a porn addiction (that guy had two bookshelves full of porn on dvd and vhs in his room) and openly walked around wearing t-shirts with the names of famous porn movies (the kind that are so infamous that even people who have never see any porn at all knows what kind of movie it is). That dude was also the worst at handling alcohol (the kind of person who got so drunk that he pulled his pants down and pissed through the bus door and threw up from balconies) But he was very good looking so girls thought it was just a bit cute and overlooked what a rotten person he was.

I remember that show! It was popular when I was younger. It was always aired on BBC Three. I'm surprised they're making a reboot of it.

I confessed to my current sweetheart before I had any idea what they looked like (she could have been a giant lizard and I wouldn't have cared, I even said so) after we'd been geeking over shared game interests for three weeks. I had never gotten a crush that fast before, and now she's my best friend and the love of my life too. When she first sent me pictures she was worried I wouldn't think she's pretty even though I don't care about that nonsense personally (could be an ominous, vibrating, cube, it isn't what's important to me), but I was pretty shocked because she's the prettiest lady I've ever met too. (even though she doesn't believe she's that pretty) She lives in the Netherlands (I'm from the U.S.). I really want to visit her as soon as I am capable of doing so. I'm completely, and terrifyingly, head over heels.
