Great video!!! I can only imagine how tired your muscles are after doing all of this. Thanks for videoing it, a neat glimpse into how MUCH WORK goes into what others may consider a "simple change"... LOVE IT!

Funny I was just out working on my yard for a few hours the last song I listened to in my headphones was this same Black Mills song. That's some awesome work, having a team helps.

I hope you will be happy with the use of the weed barrier membrane. I was too until the leaves of trees etc created enough material for weed seeds to germinate. It ended up being a greater headache than if I had laid cardboard down to block anything from growing.

I bet it looks way better now, a few years after all the plants in the front street-side bed have grown in; that was certainly true with the backyard makeover.

Not my cup of tea, but exactly compliments the mid century modern architecture.

Awesome job guys currently in the process of a backyard makeover after completing the front yard last year. I wanted to do the drip lines like you guys showed under the lawn but was worried about even water distribution. Chose to go with hunter mp rotators instead. But I must say I still live the idea of cleaner lines with no visible sprinkler heads

Thanks for the comment!! They both have there advantages really. Underground drip lines have the benefit of nobody knowing your watering and eliminates theft. it also prevents water wastage as water is getting straight into the soil!!!. The main downside is when it comes to renovation time. You can not core etc. But as this area is not a high use area. A dethatch once a year and a good fertilise in spring will most certainly keep it looking great!!!. Good choice on the mp rotors.Great sprinkler!

I have to say thank you for making this video. I want to do something to my front and side yard (corner house), but have no idea what to do. Videos like this are definitely helping me come up with some ideas.

Thank you for the comments chris. Been a qualified landscaper and greens keeper i can assure you the drip line is fine underneath!!! This area is a low impact area thus not needing aerating!!. The drip line is fair enough under so dethatching can be performed to remove the thatch layer if needed!!! Im sorry you felt it looked better before hand... You are the first!!

Really nice job!! I got tired just at seeing you! Where did you get the railroad styles? Great to have access to those... I am assuming drip irrigation, due to the closeness of the tubes...

Very nice looking design. Fits with the house architecture. That's alot of irrigation line though. I wonder if there is some way to reduce the use of water resources. Hopefully the plantings also support some type of natural ecology, pollinators and the like.

Looks great. I’m also gonna start my landscaping next week. Quick question. I’m also doing the sub surface for my lawn. I see you just laid the lines and put sod on top. Is that your recommendation? I’ve talked to a few others that like doing that as well, as opposed to burying the lines!

why is the grass cover being reduced so much....water scarcity or maintenance and mowing issues???
@Helveteshit
@Helveteshit 8 жыл бұрын
I reckon he wanted less to mow but also he didn't have use for such a big lawn that he wouldn't make use of? I may be wrong. It can't be water scarcity since he is essentially placing down water piping for his whole lawn and backyard. So I think it is more design and maintenance in mind. But then again, keeping track of the flowers etcetra is more hard work than keeping a lawn in check.

+KnicksNYanks84 I agree Knicks. It's beautiful but I know as a 60 yr old single elder on a fixed income it's nothing I could afford nor do alone. But the video is well done, the design is great for those its targeted for.
