It was great to see Jose Bautista back in town and wearing the city connect jersey.

There is one thing with the way that MLB frames the Jackie Robison story that I don't like. They always refer to him as the First black players. This is not actual true. Before 1884 there were a few black players in the majors and there were lots in the minor league teams. When Moses Fleetwood Walker started to become a player that people started to notice MLB did not like it. All the owners got together and made what was known as the "Gentleman's Agreement" to ban all black players, I believe 4 at the time, with the minors following in 1891 expelling 100's of players. It feels like MLB like to refer to Jackie as the first player because it doesn't sound quite as bad as being the first player since we purposely kick them all out. In some documents you see Jackie referred to as the first player in "Modern" baseball.

The Ryan Burr trade is one of those mundane MLB-serviceable bullpen acquisitions that MLB teams regularly do, just like the Joel Kuhnel trade from earlier in the month. Or like other teams trading to get Mitch White and Wes Parsons from Toronto earlier this season. Similar bullpen acquisitions from Blue Jays recent seasons past include players like Foster Griffin, Matt Peacock, Anthony Banda, Andrew Vasquez, and Jacob Barnes. If you don't remember them, you'll also forget Ryan Burr's name by next season.

Ryan Burr was a direct replacement of Joel Kuhnel, an expendable bullpen arm with MLB experience. Kuhnel got the DFA. Apparently, they didn't like all the walks and hits Kuhnel was giving up in Buffalo, so they upgraded. This has nothing to do with Manoah.

Jorge Lopez was a clubhouse cancer with the Twins last season, so they unloaded him. He's been let go by four different teams in the past ten months now. His employment options might be getting thin now.
