Invited to try Wild Boar back to back with Driven Pheasant Shooting. This is my French Adventure! Two firsts for me, wild boar
shooting and pheasant shooting in France. I am without doubt a very occasional rifle shooter and it was with great trepidation that I set off to France with Mark Winser and my cameraman to experience my first Driven Boar shooting. Although not in the midst of it I did get a couple of chances, but missed! Now I have to go back and do it all again. I cannot wait. It was such an adrenaline rush!
The pheasant shooting was certainly different as they do make a lot more noise when beating than in the UK. But as you will see there is some fantastic shooting to be had. Watch closely on the second drive as I shoot 3 birds on the trot estimated by the other guns of 75-85 yards.
I hope you enjoy the film and perhaps one day try this unusual mix of wild boar and pheasant shooting. Thank you for watching.
To book this unique shooting adventure please email
Guillaume Auclair directly on auclair2lalune@sfr.fr
If you would like your shoot showcasing please email davecarrieshooting@gmail.com or call 07831 303380.

This is a great video! I love the example of Pheasants being shot at 75, and 85 yards. This is a realistic distance of killable birds. I also love the comment of "not upsetting the 40 yard brigade". We have those folks in the states as well.

Great video Dave, glad you enjoyed yourself in France. Wild Boar shooting on the menu next season, never tried, but would have loved too. Did enjoy hearing the French Hunting Horns. At the second Countryside march in London, was fortunate enough to march along side a team from France who played their Horns, what a great sight and sound.

What a fantastic film Dave, thoroughly enjoyed watching it. It was a treat to see you doing something different. The boar shooting looked amazing but I presume not easy shooting a moving object running through trees with a rifle. Watching you on day 2 with your trusty Miroku was great and the birds you shot were some of the best. I always think of traditional British game shooting as the best, however this film shows how good it can be abroad. so thanks again Dave for a great film, take care and looking forward to your next one.

The reason we don't need to wear blaze orange clothing in the UK is we do not have a propensity to shoot fellow sportsman in the field , this appears to be quite a regular occurrence in the US .
@LouB3rt
@LouB3rt 4 жыл бұрын
Gerald Swain Well, I think that’s an over generalization, and in this circumstance the hunt was in France. I have only hunted in the US but I think orange is relatively required everywhere outside the UK. I wonder if it has more to do with the style of hunting- driven hunts, more hunting reserves etc. but haha maybe it is for our own saftey/good :)

Pheasants are only released during the drive and brought over the guns with flags, hence the lack of 'clouds' of pheasants like in the UK. Generally they die fast since they are released from a cage only minutes before they get shot. Wild boar is also released and shot in an enclosed area, you can see the gate and the fence when Dave drives through. This is not proper English bird shooting or a continental driven wild boar hunt. Could be great fun though for starting guns but don't expect a truly 'wild' experience.
