You have to be able to laugh in order to get by in this world with so much going on. Dave Chappelle's humor is very smart and makes you think about life's situations in a funny way that is also thought provoking, which is what comedy is.

I'm not straight and I've always found Dave Chappelle so funny, I've been watching him for well over a decade now. I don't know what's wrong with his jokes. He's classy, hilarious and not offensive at all.

Sadly there is a very loud sect of the lgbt community that are full of rage and hatred that spend their lives searching for people to destroy. They have too much power and make people afraid to say anything remotely offensive. It is killing comedy and creativity. I'd even say the majority of the problems aren't even the actual lgbt, their "allies" are the real problem. It's like a contest of who can 'defend' them the loudest and it gets outrageous.

It's always okay to laugh, laughing is a good thing and helps far more people with serious health problems than people who are just wearing their feelings out in the open, looking for an opportunity to get upset. I went to a school that was 98% black, my best friend to this day is black, his Mom and my Mom were friends when they were little, grew up picking cotton together. We go on vacations together with our families, we did so even back in the late 70's, you should have seen some of the stares we got in Mississippi when we'd stop to eat in some little town, we thought at times we were going to be lynched. But we always laughed about it because we were to young and dumb to worry much, but I'm sure my parents were a little uneasy at times.

Your confusion is natural. You're not wrong. Society, in general, is very uncomfortable when something isn't labeled or compartmentalized for them. This community inherently knows this, and it's a natural way of conveying an unpopular idea. Personally, I say, live, and let live. They're not asking me to participate, so I'm not concerned.

As far as why T is lumped in....all I can say is most Christmas traditions predate Christmas and when Christianity came around it was easier to get people on board with this new religion and holiday by taking a bunch of things like the winter solstice and evergreen trees indoors during the winter that people were already used to and just throw it all together. It was like hey here's all this stuff you're already celebrating and we're just going to change the name and throw this Jesus guy in there and hope you just run with it.

Just about every joke may offend someone in some way. It's ridiculous. If a joke isn't coming from a truly hateful place and you don't like it just think about all the jokes you've laughed at and thought were funny that someone else didn't like. If a joke isn't coming from hate and you cant laugh at yourself than just keep your misery to yourself.

Owen Benjamin did this bit way better a few years before Dave. Norm Macdonald told it even better before that in an Australian TV interview. Dave’s live act has really fallen off since this latest comeback

Yes, that bit was ok, But unfortunately, it started Dave on a downward spiral. This was pretty much the last time he was funny, or even seemed like he was trying to be funny.
