This man is one of the sweetest and yet cleverest people i have seen. I could listen to him talk for days. He knows exactly what to say and what to do and what people want. Also he looks so happy here.

Notice how always Dave adds "fucking.." to the start of the name of any band or artist he names? "I went to see fucking Radiohead.." "That fucking Katy Perry.." "We have to to be as big as fucking Metallica" Made me chuckle, oh Dave.

For the record, this WAS the greatest f**king gig I ever saw (Sat night). Dave had nothing to worry about selling tickets for MK Bowl. I was online for an hour before they were released that morning, waiting to get my hands on enough for me and the others that were coming with me. Dave's the gospel when it comes to rock frontmen, simple as that. I love how they're still quite humble about their fame, but they are seriously the coolest and most talented guys in rock today.

He's really got it right. Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes was the greatest gig I have ever been to and probably will ever have been to. Probably the greatest day of my life. :)

Just saying that Thom Yorke does not need to be freddie Mercury, his music speaks for itself, and the contrast with a Foo gig is enormous. Both different but equally entertaining.

As a devoted Foo Fighters/ Radiohead fan, I agree that Radiohead at least "used to be" seldom to interacting with the crowd- "bringing it to the people" as a "performance". I fucking love when bands play b-sides there's nothing wring with that- yet I've seen a clear distinction between the way Thom Yorke and the rest of the band interact with the audience (especially Thom) now and pre-2006. They are a much more outgoing and interactive band live now that clearly is a result of age and wisdom.

I went to the Sunday show...god it was fucking incredible, this really takes me back and reminds me how great it was to see Grohl chugging a corona and all that shit
@SDLeeming12 жыл бұрын
@manumCr89 True, I mean Thom Yorke isn't really a front man at all, He is really just part of the band whereas Dave really takes center stage. Its interesting because Foos and Radiohead are my two favorite live bands and its funny to see how different their takes on playing live are.

I love Dave Grohl, and I respect him more than you think. (three of my untouchable favorite bands in the world are Radiohead, Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters). But i do not agree with him here, though it does give me some comfort that he gives a backhanded complement in a weird kinda Dave Grohl way, I've heard him before in other interviews give nothing but the utmost respect to them.

@redjess1206 i understand that, but you have to think about it this way: when you go to see a band play live, you dont just want to see the band robotically playing along. if youre going to pay good money for a show like radiohead would put on, then you are warranted to have some semi-high expectations. if you wanted to see lifeless beings singing the songs, then you could sit at home with your stereo and the pictures on album insert.
@redjess120613 жыл бұрын
@TheTaylorAlexis The reason I lost respect for him over that comment is because if you are a real musician or music fan you know that the music should speak for it's self. The experience of seeing Radiohead play live is them being able to recreate their amazing songs live. If you can't enjoy a show without the members of a band trying to pander to an audience then you're not really appreciating the music.

Then you're going to a radiohead gig with the wrong expectations, what are you expecting, thom yorke stagediving when the glockenspiel kicks in on no surprises? Radiohead aren't a rock band just because 3 out of their 9 albums were guitar focused

@SDLeeming He says it was a "Incredible show" but, lets face it, Thom Yorke isn't a great front man, you know, like doing participate people, he play beautiful music, but he doesnt care about what the audience think in their shows
