I think people just don't comprehend that their retirement and kids college fund is sitting in the driveway of 75% of Americans. From the day you get married until your first kids are ready for college if instead of spending all that money on cars you could have $250-300k sitting in a mutual fund.

Sell the car-sure. Rice and beans when they make $120k? No, just go to to Denny's or similar only once in a while and start actually paying things off. Not just that, but they spent all that money because of the "stress" of moving a few hours drive from TX to OK. While making $100k per year. The fundamental problem is that he sees everything they do as the result of external factors, and not their own decision making. And now he's calling Dave because he needs something else external to get him out of trouble.

I agree with Dave - the tone in his voice doesn’t match the numbers. I agree that they have debt they must get out of, but they have the income to do it. But the guys talking like it’s the end of the world. There’s something he’s not telling us.

Did he say, "first time we moved away from family?" Then that he wouldn't move back? Have to listen again. But - I broke out the violins then

Who knows maybe he will start grinding and live below his means and get out of dept. then he can teach to everyone he is pastering that God does work miracles and he can be a prime example for others in the community. Him and his wife would end up being a prime example
