Deep into the 72-pint keg, we have a boozy chat about hydros, milk protein vs fish meals, preservatives, and a whole load more!
Enjoy...

I like Dave, comes across as open and honest. Even bought some of his bait! Should give me a bit more bank time. My little carp in the pond ate it immediately, so that’s reassuring 😄

When salt goes in, it does go out: water flows through the ground in the water table. You’d literally need lorry loads to have any noticeable effect (probably shown in plants, rather than fish), even then it wouldn’t be permanent.

surely that would depend on the lake bed?

@@Toronto_James I have a closed system koi pond and the salt levels need topping up fairly regularly. It gets used up or dissipated somehow. Fish, plants, algae, deposited by evaporation and blown away…it certainly doesn’t accumulate, else it would be like the dead sea by now!

I saw this and thought ‘ yes fantastic two blokes that know what they’re on about having a thought provoking conversation. 45 minutes later listening to two pissed up blokes trying to have a serious conversation is making it pretty difficult to find the enthusiasm to continue listening. Ya know? Not trying to be a kill joy or anything as I absolutely love your stuff. As a proper old old school carp angler (and so a bait head) I am a huge fan of you’re podcasts so I hope you take this criticism constructively. If you weren’t both pissed this would have been epic. All the best for the future and thanks for all the quality stuff you’ve put out

Hi Russell. I do get what you’re saying. I was definitely too pissed to ask the right questions and get the most out of the interview. Maybe we can revisit Dave in the future with a few less beers!

@@CarpChronicles It nearly worked though as Dave came across as very honest and wasn't willing to hold anything back by answering all of your questions. It's just a shame that some of the time he couldn't remember some of his answers :) Overall a quality interview though and you should get him back on again to really get into what he's doing to run and grow his own fishery right now.
