Imagine bragging with your whole chest that you haven’t grown, learned, or changed in 30 years…couldn’t be me.

Poor people make poor financial decisions, middle class make both poor and rich financial decisions, rich people make rich financial decisions. Its honestly the same regardless of time.

His principles still apply to the current changes. If you don’t agree, don’t listen?

Overall still good advice today. Live within your means and invest the extra. That will always be good advice

his basic financial advice is pretty solid but when his political/religious values seep into it he completely loses me. his “wages are stagnant because people are stagnant” rant is a good example. he also happens to discriminate against and wrongfully terminate employees who don’t share his religious values.

He doesn’t discriminate. Everyone who works there understands the moral expectations to continue to work there. Understanding comes Day 1 and applies to ALL employees. No one has to agree to work under those expectations, yet they do.

You always hear the excuse that "$1000 isn't enough for an emergency fund!!! That can't cover basic expenses nowadays". But that has nothing to with why that is the first step

Because it’s solid advice lmao

I find his Baby Steps to be very helpful for making budgeting and paying off debt feel accessible, and I’m not gonna lie, the debt free screams and some of the stories on his radio show are inspiring . . . But he forgot the part about personal finance being PERSONAL and his advice to shun credit like it’s the Devil is just plain bad advice. Thankfully we can take the common sense parts and leave the rest

If this person is out of debt and has an emergency fund then I agree with her. If not, she should work the plan first then give her opinions.

Even though I signed up for his course, he says a lot of things that disturb me. He also has an attitude with people that is disturbing to me. I won't be with his program for long.
