Watching this on my G16 2024! I wanted a 16" gaming laptop that is also thin and light enough for use for school (Engineering), and this one, although expensive, fit my needs the best. Was also considering the Legion, but picked this one due to the Core Ultra chip providing better battery life.

great stuff dave, I love how you explain very clearly the differences between cpu stacks ( higher power consumption vs lower power consumption) i' was a bit concerned at the start of the video when you showed all those laptops stacked on top of each other... doesn't that hurt the laptop at the bottom? just curious. Although I like the new design and look of asus's new g14, I kinda prefer the old design better... idk call me crazy, the lift screen hinge that helped with cooling, the higher gpu options, and the overall look of it, it was a bit thicker, and I feel could handle temps better. plus the materials weren't bad either, it still feels solidly built made of magnesium allow, with full glass touchpad, and mini led screens.

I also like that you took the time to actually show us the devices you were discussing. But the best part was your sensitivity to pricing. Far too often, we get reviews of great products which are unfortunately very expensive. Your recommendations on what to buy at what price and when to look for sales was invaluable. Job Well Done! P.S. I am a Senior Citizen who is also a confirmed geek. I must tailor my purchases to a very limited income from Social Security in the United States.

I am very satisfied with my Legion slim 5 14,5” Oled 7840hs with Rtx 4060. I can play Warzone in silent mode 70/80 fps basic settings. For me besides performance being as silent as possible is a must for a gaming rig

I got a g14 a week ago and I absolutely love it. The proprietary power is my only downside so far but it does charge via usbc PD at a decent rate, and the power brick is quite small so not that much of a problem. The device itself is great. Powerful, quiet, light and thin.

Hi Dave, after a long time it feels I can give you a few free suggestions. The split you did in the video with you in 30% of the screen and the product occupying 70%, that didn't feel neat to my eyes maybe I'm wrong but it felt so, rather have a circular cutout at the bottom right of the screen or just have the product or you occupying the whole screen like always. Even the canera angle from behind you from the right side felt was not very accurate rather stick to the overhead. Secondly its been a long time we have not had a setting up a new laptop video from you actually this opinion comes to my mind as I've got a new legion pro7i😅. I'm a big fan mate dont take it otherwise all ❤. Hopefully you read it.😊

Man I am such a Razer fan now. I got the Blade 15 2021 Advanced for college a couple years back and I am still in love with it. Just the best laptop. I got it on a huge sale too so that was awesome. Upgraded the nvme and the ram and I don't need a new laptop for a long time. Might get an external gpu someday

Curious to see if new TB5 egpus are going to come out with the much improved bandwidth. Still rocking the blade stealth with the core X for now! Also would be so sick if Razer reintroduces the blade stealth with the new intel core ultra chips, would be such a compact, powerful device with much improved battery life that it needed, powered fully by just USB-C!

I've got Lenovo Legion 9i gen9 2024, but I do a lot of coding, game dev, code compilation, video editing and much more CPU bound tasks. If I would work with Google docs and presentations, my choose is g16.

This honestly made me feel better about ordering a 2023 model. Snagged an Acer Predator Triton 14 with a 4070 for $1249. Only gripe is stuck with 16GB of RAM, but everything else checked all the boxes at that prestige price.

Got my G14 and i love it. It do be getting hot though at the said area in the review to 60 plus degree Celsius for CPU and 50 plus degree Celsius GPU.

I have the X14 from two years ago. I love this thing. I got it because I saw your review of it. No regrets. My chip set is not as good as the ones from 2024, but it is still enough.

I picked up the 2024 G16 with 4070 from BestBuy as an excellent open box for only $1450. Such an amazing deal. It will be replacing my 16” MacBook Pro w/ M1 Pro. Not as good battery life but everything else feels like a solid upgrade for almost half the price of getting an M3 Pro MacBook.

Love the 60fps videos. MKBHD needs to learn a thing or two from Dave.

Such a sleek, well edited video

The Asus proprietary connector is because USB-C can't handle that high voltage with current, so they designed it with this connector. You still can charge most Asus laptops with USB-C, but only this adapter can handle even GPU on full power with full cpu.

I’m studying architecture and wanted a 4070 laptop just for the 8GB VRAM. Got disappointed by the newer Asus because of the fan noise, wattage isn’t as important so I guess I’ll check the Omen Transcend. White model looks 🔥
