I miss these "old" Pinhoti videos. Sweaty Chubbs, farts, poopin' in the woods, jokes, etc... And a damn good turkey hunt to boot. This stuff was the best.

Best part of the video was your buddies breath and the steam coming off him right before the shot. Some of the best video is not planned! Nice work. Keep them coming!
@pinhotiproject6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The sun being in your face can give you some cool shots, but I'd prefer it at my back! I was nervous he was going to find us before we could close the deal.
@gk-ep6oj6 жыл бұрын
For sure - when they have the sun at their backs the odds are in their favor. But when they have it in their face they like to circle... Also when you are filming the camera lens shines like a beacon! But sometimes you just gotta sit RIGHT NOW and have no choice! Great work your videos allow me to extend my season because the way you tell the story it feels like I am there. Keep em coming!
@joshcrawford57344 жыл бұрын
Two years later, and this is still one of my favorite episodes ever produced in outdoor media. I know you have had a string of bad luck this year, Dave. But keep plugging away at it.

What's up with the crow's in Florida? The are attracted to turkey hunters that for sure. Chub's is a growing boy, ya'll shouldn't be so ruff on him. You can see he's malnourished.

“Stock is for peasants” is one of many pinhoti t-shirt slogans that came out of that episode. I have like 100 turkey hunting related questions though. Is there anywhere (email, website) I can ask you a few?
@pinhotiproject6 жыл бұрын
Sure. You can shoot questions up here, facebook or instagram and I should be able to field them for ya. I plan to start with the "reworked" clips possibly tonight that may also answer some questions. But I'm glad to help where I can!

Ok not asking for your spot but....ok I'm straight up asking for your spot. I've logged close to 70 mile in Turner River Unit, Big C, and the birds are SILENT!!!! Everyone I've talked to has had the same experience. Throw us South Florida Locals a bone would ya? Great hunt and great video as well!
@janielperez67044 жыл бұрын
Yes all our true South Fla birds are quiet. They gobble but its one or two and thats about it. I think they are near or around Lake Okeechobee and those birds respond much better. Its crazy how a few miles make such a big difference on how they comunicate.
@usmcmma4 жыл бұрын
@@janielperez6704 You are absolutely right. I was a few miles west in Picayune and they were much more vocal. Tons of panther tracks in Turner and Bear Island. Might be part of the reason they're claming up. Well got a ton of exercises and lots of scouting for deer season. Love it out there regardless of whether we get a bird or not!
@janielperez67044 жыл бұрын
@@usmcmma Picayune is much better than Big C. I grew up hunting Picayune and its where I killed my first gobbler like 25 years ago. Lots of game out there. This season I let jakes walk twice at Turner River but never could get a mature gobbler to commit. Its definitely tough, ill give these guys credit for getting it done! Good luck out there

You make fun of decoys but use onx constantly?
@pinhotiproject4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say I "make fun" of decoys. . . I just choose not to use them. And yes, it may not be OnX but I do look at maps alot. You going somewhere with it? Because maps have been around A LONG time. LoL
@goodtimekillers32624 жыл бұрын
Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project the term you used to describe a decoy seems like you were making fun of decoys. Maps have been around a long time but satellite imagery has not. Do you feel decoys or satellite imagery gives a person a bigger advantage over a gobbler?
@pinhotiproject4 жыл бұрын
@@goodtimekillers3262 depends on the hunter I suppose. Some are never more concerned with more than the field they can sit down beside, that would be the decoy. Those that choose to walk and go, probably the satellite- as long as they learn to read them, because there is some things to learn.
