Brings back good memories - I used to ride the number 111 bus from Hounslow east to Heathrow airport every day for about 6 years.

Those were the days! Mecca Bingo in the background, C&A, Brentford Nylons, Ruffeltons all gone now! The Chariot Pub & The Duke of Cambridge!

I grew up in Hounslow in the sixties. Favourite buses were the 110 & 111, going right past my road near the Warren pub. Routemasters that you could jump on/off between stops. If there was no bus in sight you just walked to the next stop. Usually got into town before the bus ;)

Ah, the 110. I used to work at Coombes near C&A, which still shows a bakery in the video but i was there the other day and wow it’s a dump now.

@michael leitch A few years ago, I was on a bus going down Kingsley Road towards the High Street, during a dark evening, and if I hadn't known otherwise, I might have wondered if I was in High Street, Islamabad; what with the many cheap halal takeaways. Trying Hounslow High Street during the day, well that's just a case of spot the white man. I discovered recently that Hayes has now also fallen.
