I too wonder about such .. Given his age doesn't it reflect how those who spend their life with nature are normal happy beings ..Unlike those who seek wealth , power and money.Actually when we look at his work there is no reason to have animals caged and in zoos ..His work is education in the best sense .

@@CaseyCorbett years ago I was at a concert and I was wearing a t-shirt I had printed myself which was an image from the 1993 series 'Life in the Freezer' and on the back I had David's closing speech about the Antarctic. A guy from Brazil came up to me and hugged me, thanked me and went to walk away, I asked him what he was thanking me for, he smiled and simply said while pointing at my t-shirt "for David". Indeed, a Global Treasure.

I am crying, seeing and hearing David Attenborough, a man who has dedicated his life to our planet, he has given so much, he is the world's teacher, we must listen to the message and act now. Also it is awesome that the festival is plastic free - amazing !!

Only David Attenborough could be a 93 year old man and get a bigger cheer than any musician/artist at Glastonbury. Such an icon. Not just a national treasure - a treasure for all humanity (and, obviously, the animal kingdom). What a hero.

Why don't you start by giving your phone up as the carbon footprint from it being manufactured and the infrastructure surrounding the internet are huge. Guess you and everyone else are going to put yourselves before planet. Not using a plastic bottle isn't going to cut it

The response Sir david gets entering the stage is a testomony to him and his life long work. A true Gentleman in his 90s The world leaders and the world should listen to him; up against it he continues to fly the flag for saving the planet. It was only a dot in a moment of time but Glastonbury listened,whatever your beliefs God bless the people at Glastonbury that day.

I got to watch most of Glastonbury and I would say this is most certainly the highlight of this festival. I just wish there were thousands of Sir David Attenborough's in this world.

Pablo Stoop and just recently he said in an interview, that he is well aware of the fact that he probably only has 6 or 7 years left before he passes away. And he said it places a heavy burden on his heart knowing that is true. He said he still has so many more things that he wants to do and packed into the last few years of his life, but he fears that there won't be enough time. That's so sad.
