I never liked Viktor but in the first movie and also rise of the lycans I understood why he was so important to vampire society. He didn’t just help his species survive, he made sure that when he was around they thrived! His death was inevitable if Selene didn’t kill him back then Selene seeing how strong she became even before she became an elder would’ve wrecked him.

He made the laws and rules and order strictly to keep the vampires safe and from doing stupid things such as rebeling against the council or their rulers. Hence he had very little tolerance for idiots such as Semira if Viktor was still alive he would've killed her as an example to those who would disrespect the council and him and the coven. Note how Viktor killed his daughter and said "I loved my daughter, but the abomination growing in her womb was a Betrayal of me and of the coven. I did what was necessary to protect the species! As I am forced to do yet again" he wasn't the best leader but he was one with great cause in the way he thought was right. And that sure he may have regretted some choices but again look at Selene she survived for so long had it not been for Viktor to take her in and now that she's even more powerful now

​@@koreancowboy42 He even refrained from evolving the vampyr virus as It would change their species into losing their identity and pose a threat to their long term survival. His foresight is admirable. I wish he had more screentime, specially of him being paternal towards Selene.

He killed Selene's family to prevent Markus or Lucian freeing William and causing global havoc, but took pity on Selene because of his guilt over Sonja. He betrayed Markus to protect humanity. He wasn't an autocratic tyrant because he fostered institutional respect for the Council and two other Grand Elders as a check on his personal power. He enslaved the Lycans because he didn't believe two immortal species could co-exist peacefully, which was his greatest mistake - he should have listened to Coolamon arguing for better conditions for his slaves. Kraven accused him of feeding off humans but Kraven's word isn't trustworthy.

He got a new tv show he is staring called "the gentlemen" its amazing storyline so far about him taking over his father's title and assets as the new Duke only to find out that his father was in the weed business with a crime family who are making over a billion pounds (£) a year. I'm not going to spoil more than that but give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

In an Underworld 6. I think Michael Corvin should make his comeback with Scott Speedman as him. Michael becomes the new leader of the Lycans.

So David being born a vampire doesn't mean jack shit. If Michael fought Semira then she would end Michael's track record of not killing a Vampire. He would have ripped her head spine right off.

If not for Lucian he would have stayed human and lived a regular life his blood lineage be damned. David is just as important as Micheal he's the son of one of the first and oldest vampires who every vampire species looked up to. So finding out she has a heir to take up her mantel was a big deal for her Coven.

Also the vampires keep going on about how Selene killed Victor. But they need to realise that all she did was deliver the final blow. It was Michael Corvin who actually fought Victor head on. I hope Selene tells the other Vampires about this. Also it annoys me how no one seems to know that Michael killed William the first and most powerful Werewolf ever with his bare hands. By ripping his head in half. Since Lucian and Marius are dead. I would absolutely love it if Michael becomes the new leader of the Lycans. Because he is a Lycan Dominant Hybrid. His Lycan side was given to him by Lucian personally. He defeated William the father of all Werewolves and Lycans. Not to mention his long distant Grand Nephew. This could definitely bring true ever lasting peace. Especially if Michael becomes Selene's husband and she becomes his wife. This could definitely bring true peace. @@darkabz2346 Michael wasn't decapitated. It was just his throat slashed. Your heart is what controls your blood flow. So if Michael can come back to life after being impaled through the heart. A smashed throat should not be that hard. Remember Marius isn't exactly the brightest antagonist. He's the most stupid. Why would he kill Michael anyway? It makes way more sense to keep him alive. Because he could have used him as leverage to get to Selene. Like having one of his Lycans tell her. That Marius has her Lover. Or could have used him to locate Eve. Assuming that he knew that they could see through each other's eyes. Lastly the reason why it makes more sense to keep him alive. Is because that way he could have had an endless supply of his blood. Just in case he couldn't find Eve. Also his so-called plan is pretty stupid. It was to get Eve's blood. Because apparently without it. They couldn't attack the Eastern Coven without it. What does he do when he finds out that he can't get Eve? He attacks the coven anyway. He could have done that at any time without Eve. All he needed was his stupid girlfriend to shut down the defences. So yeah. Marius is the most stupid antagonist in the Underworld Franchise. Put all of this together. Marius just most likely left Michael hanging upside down or just threw him in a ditch somewhere. Giving Michael time to heal.
