I really respect that he is not like other celebrities or youtubers showing off that he is helping in the media or on his channel, he doesn't have a film team there, he is just there from person to person in an attempt to help during such a disaster by making them smile and laugh, spreading positive energy. That's the real magic :)

I’m late to this but this is so beautiful from David. He didn’t bring his film crew, he didn’t try and make it into another ABC special. He went there for no purpose other than to make people going through very rough times crack a smile or 2.

David Blaine is the magician and entertainer for the people. He does not need theatrics, lights, or a big stage. He lets the audience be a part of it and the exchange is so much more genuine to me.

the trick where david had the guy say a card and it’s position while david didn’t even touch the box and it lands perfectly, there is no explanation for that, and i’ve seen him do it many times.

the last trick, i think that Blane have a amazibg memory, he can remember all theyt deck with just a look at it. Anh when the guy calls King of diamonds, Blaine know exactly it located in 27th faced-up deck and 26th face-down deck. Then he tell the guy select a number up to 30 and usualy the guy would chose number closed to 30, whichever 27 or 26 the guy chose, Blaine have the trick done :)

If you watch the first 3 riffle shuffles david does in Slow mo he literally just pretends to shuffle them.. rips them apart and then shoots them back underneath the top packet haha.. very well done hard to catch at normal speed.
