Definively the best interview of David Bowie: questions are as interesting as answers; With her kind and motherly approach, he’s all in the same in good mood, at ease, intrigued, disturbed… She managed to let us catch a glimpse of the man’s intimacy, his doubts, behind the public persona. Not an interview, a personal chat, as if he was in therapy with a psychologist… A real lesson to all interviewers, to oppose to the pathetic one during the sound and vision tour (« do you consider yourself as an idol ? » in which he was so embarassed 😂). Great job for the posterity.

I never actually liked Bowie's music that much, but i'm here because i recently read a paper by an important contemporary psychoanalist who mentioned Bowie as an example of a schizoid who found his place in society...and i was curious. Well, judging by this interview in particular, damn yes he was schizoid...the whole conversation revolves around isolation and he defines interacting with people as dangerous. Still can't actually stand his art, but he was a fascinating person.

Sartorially, this was really his imperial phase.

Well, I suppose when Mavis Nicholson asks was he really bisexual, she wanted him to elaborate more on his sexual preferences. That's what I understood, then he cut her short.
