Bob has something that really sounds like Roger Waters in his voice, this half-singing, half-whispering style. This is great !

I can only imagine the thrill of hearing the audience cheer as you go to grab the guitar to play the solo that they're waiting - DYING - to hear at that moment in the song. It must be amazing, knowing that those people, at that moment, are there to hear YOU. What YOU have to play, what YOU have to express, what YOU'RE presenting to their ears. I bet there's nothing like it. I hope to feel that, myself, one day.

@cannaewargaming48153 жыл бұрын
He didn't give up any fame at all. His fame grew from LiveAid. He was a relatively minor punk singer before then, with one major hit. And he lived in an expensive house in central London. He had/has money. I doubt he is an angle, more likely a saxon?

Avery Goodman To be completely honest. I'm not the biggest fan of the third side. Ofcourse Comfortably numb is the absolute pinnacle of the album and Pink Floyd in general but I just really can't get into songs like Hey you(apart from the ending solo) and Vera. However I am a HUGE fan of the first and second side...
@averygoodman7616 жыл бұрын
Fair enough, brother -- the album's structured somewhat like an opera, so yeah, the third side is about where you'd slip out for a pee and a smoke.

I think its brilliant that so many people observed the issue of reading from the notes. If you look at Bowie singing it in an immeasurably superior and emotive manner, he doesn't resort to this ploy. What reading from the notes says to me is "oh, I am so important, and I have so much going on that how could I be expected to remember the words of this poxy little song that I lend my great presence to". And that generally applies to every prima donna who does this on stage.
