If On An Island has impressed and relaxed you then you need to react to Marooned by Pink Floyd, i promise you that's a whole nother level of relaxation. It's an instrumental, but trust me when i say that it shouldn't sway you from listening to it. To me it's a Top 5 Pink Floyd song and one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written on planet earth and if you love you some Gilmour guitar.... this is your song. It's kinda weird to me because the guitar in Marooned woulda fit perfectly into On An Island as a solo, yet the solo in OAI is kinda rough in places and aggressive which is the total opposite to how gentle, smooth and mellow the actual song is. Trust me.... you'll have yet another level of appreciation of Pink Floyd and David Gilmour once you've listened to Marooned.

Recommend the live version of on an island from remember that night, with crosby and nash. Ending solo is amazing and mid solo is also better than album version. Apart from that agree with Marooned!

You have to pick up Gilmour’s DVD called Remember That Night. It was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in London after this album was released. Special guests included Crosby & Nash, David Bowie, and Richard Wright. Echoes and Comfortably Numb were standouts, but it’s hard to find a clunker throughout the DVD. There are lots of extras included, as well. If you’re looking for mature performers who still have it, check out Gary Brooker and Procol Harum on their 2006 performance DVD called In Concert with the Danish National Concert Orchestra and Choir. A Whiter Shade of Pale would be the obvious song choice. I like Whaling Stories for its majesty and bombast. Enjoy.

This was one of the best, most genuine reactions I've ever seen! Great job you two! I love pretty well everything Gilmour does but as much as I love this album, all the songs are 1000x times better live. A lot of people will recommend the Live In Gdansk album which is a little more aggressive in nature to offset the accompanying orchestra, but I prefer Remember That Night for the live stuff from On An Island. It's a little more trademark Gilmour where the guitar work is more flowing and fluid. Think Animals vs Wish You Were Here. Both are amazing, just a matter of what you're more in the mood for. Definitely give all of his stuff a listen. Especially anything from his first solo album, Murder, Let's Get Metaphysical, and Until We Sleep from About Face, Castellorizon, On An Island, The Blue, Take A Breath, A Pocketful Of Stones, and Where We Start from Remember That Night, and 5AM, Rattle That Lock, Faces Of Stone, In Any Tongue, and Today from Rattle That Lock. Music for the soul, my friends. Hope you do at least some of these, I'll be watching! Thanks again for one of the best reactions I've seen! Stay safe!

Ive not been impressed with Gilmours solo work . Master of the gliding guitar but i feel I’ve heard it all before, and his lyrics aren’t so great, though to be honest i haven’t listened to a lot. To me his greatest solo success is in discovering Kate Bush and making her demos while recording DSOTM. Please react to Kate Bush (truely prog genius).

Stuey, that may just be the most preposterous, vapid comment on anything I have ever heard. You may want to heed the advice of this old, but very relevant, proverb: "Tis' better to remain silent and have people think you a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt." My goodness that was inane.
