David Holt interviews famed Piedmont Blues guitarist Etta Baker. Baker plays parts of Carolina Breakdown, Railroad Bill, On the Other Hand Baby, One Dime Blues, Knoxville Rag, John Henry and Careless Love.

This sweet,sweet woman brings tears to my eyes and joy to my ears. Raised 9 kids and plays so soft&low.She is in heaven right now pickin' under a tree and smilin'. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PERSON.

Her father was Boone Reid and can be heard playing guitar with Etta Baker and Taj Mahal on an earlier recording, however he never produced any individual recordings

Thanks for the response. I am here in Morganton NC where Etta lived most of her adult life. Boone Reid was only recorded playing solo banjo in the 1950's.

Etta has such a great feel for phrasing, swing and percussive touch when needed a real gem of a player and personality. Cheers fae Bonnie Scotland to all the pickers out there.
