When I was 17 yrs old in 1978 I really began to struggle as a result of yrs of drug misuse, adolescent angst, poor concentration, parental alcoholism .... the usual. I was basically rescued by TM that year. Today I worked a 12 hour shift in a Toronto emergency department where I have been employed as a registered nurse since 1989. I worked as a paramedic for 8 yrs before the nursing gig. Over 42 years in emergency departments. It has been an eventful , challenging career to put it mildly. But today, at age 63, I still value my work, the work of my many colleagues and the important validity of every one of my patients and personal relationships as much as ever. I am in excellent physical health and also enjoy a well balanced life away from my workplace. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I simply would not have made it nearly this far without TM. I still meditate and would encourage others to explore this further. Mr. Lynch draws it all up very well in this clip. If you're still not convinced, trust the Beatles.

Wow, I actually learned TM in 78 also. I’m also 63 now. Unfortunately, I didn’t continue with it, because my brothers girlfriend at the time kept bugging me to tell her my mantra. Unfortunately, I did, then every time after that when I tried to meditate, it made me think of her. My life ended up being fueled by drug and alcohol dependence leading to major depression and guilt. Your path is what I wish I had followed, but I’m definitely inspired to try again. 🙏🏻

@@stanlee-eq7lu genuinely curious, what would u reckon it would cost a beginner to learn the official TM technique from an authorized TM instructor, to receive the mantra & be able to practice TM meditation on their own, what would be the minimum expense, 2 to 3 thousand $U.S.? & why would it not be on a sliding scale or is it? The word of God plainly teaches that man is spiritually dead in sins and trespasses against God. This is why the Lord Jesus Christ said “you must be born again”. This is being born from above, meaning of God, by His Spirit. You must be reconciled to God. The bad news is you cannot do this by yourself. And far worse, you stand under the judgement and condemnation of God because of your sin against Him. The good news is the coming of the Son of God in the Person of Jesus. He came as the promised Saviour (Messiah) of the world, the Christ. He took on our human nature to live and die in our place. In His crucifixion, Jesus took upon Himself the judgement we deserve for our sins, paying the price in our place. When He rose again from the dead three days later this was affirmed, just as He and the prophets before Him had said. Now He reigns as Lord and King in heaven and brings salvation to all who call upon His Name. God commands all people everywhere to repent, turning to Him, and to believe in this Saviour. The promise is the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. This is true peace and true joy, in the knowledge of God Himself.

@@timendrizzi2180 it's unique to the individual. It'd do you no good to hear his mantra. It's not a phrase or a word necessarily. It's just a trick people use sometimes. Without outer stimulus, your brain begins to think.. focusing on this.. noise.. or whatever, stops you from thinking. Your brain requires stimulus. And you aren't letting it have any. Your body isn't giving it any more info.. so it stops trying to gather any more. Slowly.. your mind forgets it has a body.. and you begin to detatch. So the mind turns inwards. And you are completely awake during this. You make connections and examine things from this persective.. and it changes you. It's sitting around quietly for a few minutes. Whats the risk?

Half my life ago I was so happy. I practiced TM ritually. I loved life. Then, life hit me. Car wreck left me disabled, I saw abuse of animals and of each other, my income went from $200k to zip, lost my job and home, became homeless with 3 dogs one of whom died of cancer while living in my van. Sure wish I could find that bliss again. I've tried yoga, TM, all kinds of therapy, all kinds of treatments, all kinds of alternate healing, yet I can't find the way back to happiness. I'm in my 60's and life has become really sad. I think security and money in the bank helps a lot. I didn't used to think this way, but I wonder now, was I really happy before, or did I just have what I needed to live comfortably?

Wow, thank you for sharing. I am skeptical of Lynch's teachings here especially because the beginning part about quantum physics is just wrong, doesn't make sense. You practiced meditation, but did you understand it's source? Sure, we need food as human beings, but where do we go when none is left? Anyhow, I surely wish you good health and happiness wherever your path leads you. Check in with Peter Levine and a community maybe? The community is the ultimate form of security for most human beings.
@paulclayton4592 жыл бұрын
Understand your thoughts, thanks for sharing. Maslow reckoned we all need some things to make the best of our lives; security and shelter are big parts. We also don't tend to be ready for changes, and as life progresses our relationships with others change and like you've illustrated, times can get tough, sometimes really tough. It might be that you've got a book to write? It may even be a counterpoint to the 'things get better if you do xyz' happiness culture. It may be if you retrace your story, the things that you view as happy then, may have a different tone. Sell your story, maybe make a few pennies and and see what others think.. whatever happens, I know that hope and despair are next door neighbours and they borrow bread and milk from each other. They never really live alone.

This. We're trapped in a prison of words. A magic spell - is just to spell. A grimoire is a fancier way of saying grammar. Terrence McKenna talked about this, and a classical philologist Bruno Snell wrote about how Greek poetry is actually responsible for heightening our consciousness. @Matthew Minors - the Higher Powers don't keep us believing that we're different. Human Free Will does that. Human Free Will does that through manipulating the messages of the Churches, saying: "We are right, and they are wrong." God (the Creator) never said anything about "Right or Wrong" - He gave us the rules and said: "You have Free Will to choose how to create your life." All Faith, in the end, points back to God, or Source, or the Creator, or the Higher Powers.

Yeah that’s basically what it is but in my experience it’s a little more accurate to say it’s the difference between knowing and understanding. We know we should be kind to one another but for some people they might ask why? This would be the understanding part and it’s because you are one with the world around you. You, your friend and enemies are all you. You wouldn’t want to hurt yourself right? So why hurt a tree, why hurt your enemy both of which are you on a fundamental level.

Seriously.. I saw a clip of this video on TikTok, laying down…and accidentally slipped off. I then found myself with my phone taking pictures of my front garden of a house with beautiful columns. a place where the dogs of my past were there. I was listening to this video subconsciously because the reel kept repeating itself. I touched there fur. I felt it. They were so happy to see me.. the place was so perfect and detailed..beautiful. I saw the sky… it had a few clouds in the distance I mentioned a good rain for the garden is coming… being a light sprinkle… I told Barry and the dogs it is time to go inside… we all went in and I realized I wanted to hug the dogs in this place I said to them “I am thinking of you always”and “we will be together again soon and I will try and return again.” Then I opened my eyes. I started to lay back down and do it again… the place was blissful. Max and Biscuit… my pet friends… missed but I know I will do this again many times. Then at this earthly death we will be together and one again
