David Moyes will leave West Ham at the end of the season with former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui set to replace him.
It is understood West Ham's agreement with Lopetegui will see him take over as a head coach, as opposed to the role Moyes held as manager.
Moyes guided West Ham to their first European trophy since 1965 when they beat Fiorentina to lift the Europa Conference League last season.

Moyes should’ve left after the cup win last year and gone out on a high. Very poor list management and lack of results has been his downfall. Won’t be missed at all.

He is right to go, but deserved a better exit than this. Sullivan and Brady should be ashamed. If I was Moyes, I would have said bollocks, all yours and walked. Not an exciting appointment in my opinion. I am fearful for next season.

We finished 5th in 99 under bagpuss, great news today, so happy Moyes is going, absolute dross the last two seasons, Bournemouth would have won that conference league last season, we have been absolute pony since December 2021. Good riddance.

Totally agree. We've lost 33 games over last season and this one. Unacceptable! Poor transfer management as well. Let three players leave yet brought no one in. No pathway for youth even though they won the FA Youth Cup. Yes we won a cup, which west ham fans will be forever grateful for, but his record has been poor recently.

@@yunoyuluvitWest Ham are 8th in the table for most goals scored, despite Antonio, Bowen, and Paquetá missing games due to injuries and Kudus being unavailable for a month due to AFCON. Also, can’t just go attacking every game against every opponent. Moyes is more than a capable manager, and with him (and Paqueta) leaving in the summer, I don’t see it getting any better for West Ham. At least he won the Conference League, which isn’t a bad achievement at all with West Ham.

With a win ratio of 45.5% Moyes has been West Ham United's most successful manager in terms of results on the field. (Trevor Brooking achieved 64% but he only managed 14 matches in 2003). Billy Bonds managed 43% in the 1990s. John Lyall managed 39% although his tenure was twice as long as David's. John also won a couple of FA Cups. There are 11 clubs in the Premier League below West Ham who would have been happy to finish the season in the top-half of the table. A team finishing 09th get about £30million more than a team finishing 20th for example.

they sold declan rice and wonder why they not performing as well this season! the fans never really took to moyes but moyes does the best with what players he gets and can spend, they bringing in this guy to change to tikki taka style footbal but i think the transition of this will not go well for the hammers and they are in for quite a few hammerings next season unless they have money to bring int he players to do this style of football

Three seasons ago West Ham and Leicester looked likely to gatecrash the top six. While City went off the rails, West Ham were consistent and picked up a European trophy too. I see a lot of Hammers fans are glad to see the back of Moyes. In hindsight, I would have gladly traded West Ham’s last 3 years for our own. Be careful what you wish for is what I’m saying. LCFC
