We need more relationships like theirs in the media (movies, shows). As a baby queer there was nothing I could relate to in terms of love. Meanwhile hetero romcoms and hetero relationships are everywhere in the media. The fact this show had a 3 season long relationship, that ended in a marriage, and just so happened to involve 2 guys, makes my heart happy.

And yeah, up until 5 minutes ago, 99% of the world was hetero, so the media should reflect that. But it really doesn’t at this point. The LGBTQIABCDEFG has taken over the industry and that’s why every movie that pushes identity politics ends up sucking. I will say, this show was written perfectly. It didn’t push identity politics. And even though I don’t agree with a Gay lifestyle, I still liked David. He was actually my favorite. And in real life I can not agree with someone’s life choice but still respect them as a person so long as they’re not burdening me with MUST HAVING to approve of them. He wrote the show and he did an amazing job.

I understand you completely. This scene shows that you don't have to have the same orientation as the people in the love story to watch this and cry from happiness for them every time. Not me, I didn't cry and I'm not smiling from seeing the beautiful romance in this scene and their story up through this part. For anyone that hasn't watched the series, this scene goes against David's personality so much, but he loves Patrick that much that it just doesn't matter for him to go against it for love! Also what a great choice for a song!

It is so obvious how much both Patrick and Ted love their Roses. They both have the same way of dealing with David and Alexis's quirks. The gentle, amused, patient exasperation they show when other people would probably just get angry and frustrated. That's true love.

This made me cry, it brought up feelings I'd forgot about. David's expressions, movements and emotions were so true. I'm a 70 years old widow and this brought back memories and the realization that I will probably never feel these emotions again, not in the way they felt years ago, too much water has gone under the bridge. Thank you, I'm glad I saw this.

I'm sorry you were saddened and I can't imagine what you're going through. For what it's worth I think the show is partly about how when you're mourning the wonderful life you've had you might still be fortunate enough to discover some lovely, unexpected things in the schit life you have. I don't know if that is a little bit comforting to you, it kind of is to me.

I've probably watched this scene (okay, EVERY David/Patrick scene, but this one for sure) at least 25 times, and haven't stopped laugh-crying yet. There's such real, complex human emotion underneath the cuteness and humor -- which is true of all of Schitt's Creek, and why I'm fangirling so hard (fanwomaning. sorry.). This show is really, really special. It's so smart, and so overflowing with heart, maturity and wisdom. Please let January 16th get here quickly.

Berk - Same. I hadn’t seen the show until two weeks ago, and binged through all 5 seasons. This particular episode shook me to my core for days, reminding me of what I’m hoping to find some day and the positive moments in a past relationship. The love acted out by these two is simply brilliant.

He never wanted to believe that he could be loved the way he deserved to be loved and when Patrick came into his life and proved that everyone has a soulmate and as hard as David pushed against it, Patrick showed what true love is!! I loved David doing the song, he was so vulnerable, pure and sexy and opened himself up, it was awesome to see! I must've watched it 20 times, LOL...

I've sung & performed to my husband many times & he tells me how much he loves my voice & how much effort is put into it. This part is perfection. Before I checked out KZfaq to find David’s song to Patrick, I didn’t realize Patrick’s serenade was the same song. How vety perfect that they each had a version “in character”. I watch these everyday and they always make my heart sing. I am so very grateful I was told about this show. Very cliche now, but it is simply the best!

This is legitimately my favorite scene from the entire show so far (just finished S5)... I don't know there's just so much raw emotion behind, like David really letting Patrick see him, and trusting Patrick to not judge him in such a vulnerable, and possibly embarrassing situation. I mean what David did takes a lot of trust, even for someone who doesn't have issues opening himself up like David does. I don't know, it's just really powerful to me? Okay gonna go long for my own perfect relationship in the corner now, goodbye.

One of our favourite scenes from a fantastic show. Love all the characters but David and Patrick are our favourites. Just love the chemistry they have.
