@@losnamerales3403 Yeah, I think that was a critical part of the Arsenal defensive tactics with the high backline and offside. If your keeper isn't willing or able to come and sweep up then they just end up backpedalling. He wasn't quite sweeper keeper, but was definitely more willing to come to the edge of his area to touch the ball on or claim it.

It's an insane save. The fact that he got enough power behind the ball with his hand to keep it out and actually get it away from the Sheffield player. And he was 39, only a few months from turning 40.

U r forgetting keepers like Peter schmeichel who was better than seaman no mater how you look at it. Than keepers like casillas, kahn and plenty others. Seaman was indeed the last world class english keeper but italy always had keepers that were equal or better than seaman in the past 30 years. A few italian keepers who were better than seaman are: Francesco Toldo Angello Peruzzi Gianluca Pagliuca Gianluigi Buffon Walter Zenga

Seaman, 39 at the time, had a great tournament overall, best keeper after Kahn and Rustu. That was a lucky freak goal and Ronaldinho was a magician, doesn't mean Seaman was not great. Afterall everybody makes mistakes, watch Kahn in the final of that same World Cup, he made a silly mistake.

"for one thing and one thing only". Not true. I am much more impressed with the number of his saves (including against Spain at Euro 96) than that those occasionally mistakes. The likes of Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehman did mistakes too.

@@recruitmentch Well, both goals were actually similar on how Nayim and Ronaldinho saw Seaman's position which was too advanced from the goal line, and then took advantage of that situation. I watched the match at WC 2002 live on TV; I saw Seaman's position then which was vulnerable before Ronnie did that thing. Maybe his tendency of moving (a bit) too advanced became one of Seaman's flaw from which smart players could take advantage.
