Yes that is because people are such big experts on accents :P I mean criticism seem to come from the two most insular countries in the world namely USA and UK. According to research majority of Americans never travel out of their country and go abroad. WHAT makes them an expert on accents ? You need to have an ear for it. You need to develop it by traveling or living in a multicultural environment. Some British audience apparently complained about his scots accent in BC S2. Now that is funny. Some of them have problem with everything that is not English. As a Non American Non British English speaker I had zero problem understanding him.on BC. As for his accent on GP .. who knows where the character was from ? For all we know he could have been a recent emigrant from Scotland. His accent was decent enough considering that ambiguity. Geesh.
