If your business is big enough to have skill redundancies amongst your employees, Yes. You still need to understand your industry though even though you may not be 'doing the work.'

This feels like odd advice. So the solution is to work in the industry? That's the only good way to figure it out? That seems pretty unrealistic. Your warnings are on point, but I feel like there's some other options here -or am I wrong?
