@@DavidMahler I switch to more data-oriented role recently and need to use git for daily code management. For newbie like me it's key for understanding that the concepts are delivered clearly ("why" we need this, "what" is it, instead of "how" to do it). Most videos that I found just jump into the details, speaking in full CS language while I'm still learning the different set of vocabularies. That's where you have done excellently.

Thanks a lot David After watching all three amazing videos of your Git tutorial, everything makes sense. You are the truly the best. Things that helped me learn: 1- The very well crafted drawings/diagrams. 2- Explaining the important parts of the output after each command which learners tend to skim then ignore when working with CLI especially when they don't know how to interpret, worse yet, most teachers skip this part assuming the learner knows. 3- The slow pace and the right amount of info introduced, some other teachers use 80 tongues with each tongue throwing 80 words/sec and think the learner will be able to catch up with them.
@DavidMahler
@DavidMahler 3 жыл бұрын
Wow, thanks a lot. Yes, speeding through CLI demos only is really rough for me too, I can't learn well that way, especially live and without the ability to pause, or get an explanation and some other non text representation of what is happening.

Hi David, This is one of the best git intro videos. Please check the following line in description section "stage and edit = git commit -a -m "description" ". I think it should be stage and commit instead of edit :)
