Great video man, an excellent arrangement of the duet. One part that resonates with me is when Jones is playing the organ. You can see the anguish in his face as he plays. I used to play French Horn from middle school, all the way till senior year of high school and used to go to concert band competitions. Music was also an outlet for me, as much as it is for Jones I think. I recall when my grandfather, the head of our family, passed away. When I found out , I played my french horn for four hours straight. Did I cry while playing, sure, but it was also a release. Its a shame schools are cutting arts and music, as they are an outlet and release for kids, in a point when we need it most.

Captain Davy Jones and Captain Barbosa are the most tragic characters in this series so that it really saddened me. In my personal opinion, I consider the pirate movie series one of the greatest films that contained emotional, romantic, comedic and enthusiastic scenes, as it contains a group of actors who deserve respect for their outstanding performance with their wonderful characters. I adore This series and every year I re-watch it, who agrees with me?

I must say this does give me chills. Of course great music by Hans Zimmer that already gives me chills, but Fialeja did really splendid job on writing the lyrics to the music. Man on the Internet covering Fialeja's lyrics added the needed voice for it. Let's say that the original (and official) duet they did kinda disappointed me, I was expecting them to take turns on who's singing, and just sometimes sing together, not them singing together the whole time. You fixed that issue, which I thank you many times, this is exactly the version I was hoping for. Anyway, as far as the story, I find Davy Jones to be the best villain in cinematic history. Best written so far. Hopelessly fallen in love with the goddess of seas Calypso, betrayed and heartbroken he decided to end his life by cutting his own heart from his own chest, but Calypso cursed him and his crew to live for eternity. Davy Jones then locked the heart in a chest and hid it away, to keep himself from emotions that broke his heart. Ever wondered why Davy Jones knew Lord Beckett bringed the heart to the Dutchman? Because for a split moment he felt emotions, and then realised that. And the only reason why is that his heart was near him. After all of what Calypso did to him, he still loved her, he still felt love for her. And he must have felt so much emotional pain when he knew she didn't pay her love back to him. One may say that Joker might be best written villain. Well, it depends on the source. Original source comic character was merely just a caricature and there was no real backstory to his character. Better view on Joker's personality wasn't given until The Dark Knight movie by Christopher Nolan, and part of the character personality was developed by Heath Ledger who did fenomenal job on covering the character. Even better description is dealt by the movie Joker which actually depicts the development of the character. But still, the original was just a caricature. Davy Jones was specifically written this way he was written from the very beginning. There's no comic to support the movies, there is no book providing a guideline to the movies. It was made from the scratch. Books do actually exist, but they have been written AFTER the movies. Davy Jones wins a sympathy for his character, and is most likely the most memorable and most beloved villain. Why? Because you understand his motivation, you understand his backstory. He's kinda relatable to each one of us. Ever felt betrayed by a person you loved? That's exactly what set his character to motion. I do not count Joker because originally that character was designed as a generic comic villain with no real background story to back up his motivations. Those motivations, that background story was provided by later movies that didn't actually follow the comics to the bone but instead set their own storyline.

@dunning8273 жыл бұрын
Bon Bon Cordero Navarro I think the reason they might have put Davy Jones second was because the man on the internet did it so good on that part
@SiDitris3 жыл бұрын
It made sense to me. First part is as though Calypso commands her lover, and that's exactly what it was - Davy Jones was assigned some duties by Calypso. And the second part has a very specific line "key to my heart". Jones locked his heart so I thought it would be appropriate for him to say that, not Calypso. Also other parts fit perfectly, no need to break the pattern
@vajkperduk3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s perfectly fine. The only thing I would change is the part “Wild and strong you can’t be contained Never bowed nor ever chained” I would give that to Calypso, because if Davy Jones sings it, it wouldn’t make sense, because Calypso was chained and bowed to the pirate council.

Fialeja's original version came across as a lady asking her lover to join her on a quest for vengeance, the Man on the Internet Duet sounds like both of those two people declaring war on the earth itself. While your duet is good, it just doesn't bring the amount of power MotI gave it. Make no mistake it still has significant impact. EDIT: For the record, this version 'rises' better than MotI's duet did. EDIT 2: While the composition of the song itself no longer has that "declaring war on the Earth itself" power, that power now rests on the shot when they both sing. While The Black Pearl is going up against what looks like every sailing warship on the planet including The Flying Dutchman.
@JMObyx4 жыл бұрын
