His story is actually fairly tragic, he still became a vicious man after becoming Captian of the Flying Dutchman. But. Thats the whole point of the allegory with hin having his heart cut out and in a box. He lost his humanity, his love, his hope. So I do, even though hes done horrible things, hes meant to be a tragic tale.
