Ten years I devoted to the duty you charged me , ten years I looked after those who died at the sea and finally when we could be together again you weren't there. Why weren't you there?? I did what I could for ten years, just to be with her. And she wasn't there. She made me the monster I am. But now, I can be with her forever. We are one with the sea. Life is cruel. So Why should the afterlife be any different??

Funny that, there is a lore behind Jones and Calypso: See, Davy Jones spent ten years for a day with her, but she never showed, stating "it's my nature". Now, Calypso is the sea goddess and the sea can never come to land, hence why she didn't show up. Jones, filled with rage, didn't want to feel anything anymore, so he carved out his heart and buried it on Isla Cruces so no one would ever find it. At this time, the Brethren Court were planning to "dispose" of Calypso so they could rule the seas. Davy Jones, feeling betrayed by Calypso, showed them how to bind Calypso into her human form as revenge for what she did. Now, Calypso's symbol is the crab, hence Jones' leg and crab claw. But also, octopuses eat crabs, which is why he has the head and the finger. He hates her, but he loves her. Calypso, quite literally, turned Davy Jones into the monster he is.

I agree with Davy Jones, Love is a cruel and dreadful bond. One that makes a man weak, I have no space in my heart anymore for such weakness, if I could, I would carve it from my chest just like him. Every time I listen to this song, you get the feeling like you're heart is broken into thousand peaces. But then again, the music makes you feel strong and powerful. Like you have to overcome the pain, with a little bit of anger. And when the music is getting slow, easy and peaceful? Gives you the feeling that no one will ever replace 'her' and will be lost without. The slow part, is more like the rhythm of you're heart. Beating for the one you love(d). Like; Sometimes you can try to forget someone, and feel the power to deal with it. But then again, if she live(d)s in you're heart. She will always be. Just had to write this down..

Jones wasn't actually a villain, because he doesn't killed people, he only recrut them. He gave them a choice: death or you will spent 100 years on the Dutch. And he was used by British, so he was a puppet, a puppet of calypso, because he made these recrutments for calypso and used by British, because they wanted to control the seas.

Now I realize That Davy never really was an antagonist. He put his trust in someone Just to be betrayed and left with nothing.

Krzysiek Miazga i see him as antivillain as the main antagonist because well uhh he is the most antagonistic character. And beckett as the true central villain of the story. Even in jacks backstory he is a character but not a villain, at all. I believe... i havent read i know the core elements. But beckett is. To me davy jones is the main villain of dead mans chest and cutler beckett is that of at world 's end.

Arie Habibie I definitely can do nothing else but agree. He had a tough outer face, but a soft core. He is one of my favorite movie characters of all time. A man in the class of its own.
