You seem to forget that Chrisjen Avasarala was just as ruthless as Dawes. Remember that she tortured a Belter using gravity and is form believer of "Earth First " at all cost, even to the point of betraying that Martian Ambassador who were fronds with her father since her childhood.

Dawes is a true believer. He'll make use of rhetoric to help steer things in the direction he wants, but he genuinely thinks what he's doing is what's best for the belt. And a lot of what he said in that OPA meeting was right on the money. Earth and Mars have consistently taught the belt that they will take advantage of them as much as they can. They do treat them like animals, and there's not much reason to think that will suddenly change. The belt's position is precarious, and history shows time and time again that disadvantaged groups can't trust advantaged groups to do right by them. And Holden and Fred are both outsiders who will never be able to fully understand their plight. He's certainly not a good guy, but he isn't just a power hungry dictator wannabe. That's one of the best things about this show, the antagonists have believable reasons for doing what they do.

Jared Harris has become one of my favorite actors. He was amazing in Chernobyl and he also did a great King George VI in The Crown. I haven't seen Foundation, yet but I hear he's really good.

Dawes is definitely being manipulative, but yeah, belters have been wildly oppressed for ages, and just experienced a genocidal event. Theyre scared and angry and have been left in the dark. Hearing two people who aren't of your people essentially saying "hey, trust us, it's over, you dont need to know anything else, stop asking questions" is inherently shady, even if those 2 had good intentions. Belters are owed transparency, and it isn't Fred's call to stash Cortazar and protomolecule research away when he could help them understand what happened and if another eros incident was happening elsewhere. Dawes can be shady and ruthless, and self-interest is certainly one driving factor of his, but he hasn't done anything wrong.

You really really need to read the books when you done the series. The Amos arc is ……. memorable ….to say the least

I don't think Naomi wants to be in charge. She's a really skilled engineer and that's what she'd rather be doing. Unfortunately the politics of the system keep intruding in her life.

The Belt needs all the help it can get. Especially after loosing half it's people in Eros. Dawes can't afford to alienate Holden or anyone else.

Holden really said it best but you kind of dismissed him when he said " We're all in this together or we're all lost!" Then Holden decided to take things in his on hands when he took a gun to go visit Cortazar..😢 Naomi is akso got a lot going as well! I think you may be a little on the wrong path about her believing she could unite the belt. Remember when sge told Holden that being charged was a sh*t job and didn't want it! Bobby is a great character! Gunny is short for Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant Roberta Draper is her full title.

It is funny how this show gives you everything you need to make accurate judgements as the viewer while giving you the rope to make all the wrong ones based on the contorted narrative you bring with you. Every episode is an ink blot. "Reactors and The Expanse" should be PhD thesis in psychology.

The belt should've had enough resources for every belter to be incredibly wealthy. However its resources are mined by Earth or Mars companies that extract that wealth back to their planets. Realistically asteroid miners should be rich as heck. Not begging for scraps.

I'm sorry, but Naomi would not be a good leader for everyone. She's biased towards the belt, it's the entire reason Holden is the perfect leader for their crew. He can and has sympathized with each side at one point or another. He's able to look at things from an unbiased point of view and make decisions.
