The guy is correct every pasture can and will benefit from aeration even if it's not compacted. I have had a Aerway Aerator for about 7 years now and I see improvement every year. It's a little different design from the RanchWorx but the concept is the same. Get moisture, Air, Nutrients, relieve compaction, etc... into the soil. I think what the rep was referring to at the end of the video was to be careful when doing Fall aeration, if you happen to get a dry or hard freeze you can damage and or freeze the root system of you grasses. Great video and I know you will see results.

We have been running industrious American Aerotor for about 4 years on our BemudaHay land..... The spikes are not as wide but penetrate about 12 inches, and twist as they leave the soil...... With Bermuda every time the roots rhizones are cut beneath the ground a new plant emerges..... Every thing else about aeration is true.....

Kayla, I know that you have been having a difficult time lately, and have done a lot of soul searching over which direction you want to go with your channel. Your stress level was showing. You look better on today's video, so keep up what you are doing. Depression is very difficult to manage, so don't go there. I have struggled for 20 years, so I know it well. I hope that you continue to move forward!

It's been over 35 yrs ago since I seen anyone use a ripper or subsoiler. Shanks that run 18 inches deep. This is important on irrigated tilled acres.

It seems to me that even the hay fields would benefit if you were to aerate even just the headlands which have a lot more machinery traffic simply because that's where machinery is regularly pounding the ground down. This is especially the case if the soil is damp, indeed compaction itself inhibits natural soil drainage making the upper levels even more wet. Like you we have found that fields regularly grazed for years by cattle clearly suffer compaction because we have done trials using a pasture slitter which has narrow tines mounted in a heavy frame with a vertical slicing disc in front of each tine and a substantial roller behind each tine to leave a smoother surface pushing any sod or stones down. Traction is the key issue in reality otherwise the tractor wheels tear up too many grass plants many of which fail to grow again. In poor areas of production we aso "stitch" new seed into the field using a disc no till drill with narrow row spacing. The debate is WHEN is best Autumn or early Spring? (If seeding we go late August until the end of September but if just aerating either time). Both of these techniques have resulted in much better grass production in subsequent years.

Hi Kayla, I would be very interested and hearing your thoughts on the results of using the RanchWorx aerator after the growing season. Did it help your pasture and hay ground compared to your ground that did not get aerated?

Hey! No questions are stupid!!! I like these kind 😆. It can be - we know some who turn their cows on it - we just choose not to right now. As Alfalfa is our “money” crop.

Our ground was a tad wet. It had rained 10 days prior to the Jarrod coming and the ground really wasn’t as ideal as we had hoped. There shouldn’t be any soil residue coming up. It should just punch the ground and roll on. Not kicking any up. But we can’t control the weather! And it’s not much different than driving over cow footprints or truck divits… Guess I’ll have to report back in spring when we start mowing.
