We have not had power because of a ice storm but we are back now. It is day 3 of my raw food detox. My old clothes starting to fit again. I'm loving it! It is so simple and easy to do raw food. One thing I've been craving lately is cantaloupes. They are very high in vitamins A and C, and they have more beta carotene than oranges. Another neat thing is they come in their own serving container. All you have to do is clean a spoon. They are also very high in antioxidants. Most people thump them to tell if they are ripe. If the sound is hollow, they are not very ripe. Dents and spots mean they are getting over ripe. Another way that you can tell is to scratch and sniff the blossom end. It should smell sweet. Usually you can find cantaloupes for pretty cheap, so that is another reason to keep some on hand.
So, I'm feeling good, still juicing and still doing smoothies, but I am also eating raw whole foods now. I'm am making sure to get a variety fruits and vegetables, but I've been loving the cantaloupes lately. Fen loves them too! He knows when we are getting ready to eat raw foods. It's the same for bananas...he comes running! So, tell me, what is YOUR favorite raw food?
