Watched you live on bbc at 6 am then seen you all filming in the field around 6:30, good interview Olly. Pity you couldn't get them up to interview the roundabout crew and ask them what's taking so long !! Swivel drawbar is there so it doesn't drag the tractor over if the trailer tips over.

Hi i'am 32 and i'am watching form the Azores archipelago in Portugal. And the swivel hitch is in case your trailer flips over that way the tractor wont flip with the trailer.

Todays quiz question, it allows for better following of the tractor and in my experience if someone rolls a trailer with a swivel hitch on it tends not to take the tractor with it

Great video Olly like the little Merlo nice for tight spaces can do just as much as the big ones is it on demo.

In case you role the trailer the tractor doesn’t flip as well. I find some one always leave them turned the wrong way to be a pain though 😂

maybe solve the number plate bracket issue if you take the tow hitch off( not required) , bolt the number plate bracket upside down and rotate the number plate on the bracket, that way you keep the number plate lighting

The swivel on the trailer is better for the pick up hitch on the tractor it’s got some give for rough ground and tight angles. Also if the trailer is going over you stand a chance of keeping the tractor up right for longer 😊

When lifted the engine cover the engine itself seemed really quiet which must be a good thing as it’s easier on the driver!

Well done on 13k sub. Swivel hitch so tractor don’t roll when u put mileage on side of trailer🙈. Try using waxoyl on Walter shield top link ball. Use on loadall boom and dirt doesn’t stick to it and reduces friction 😜

Not sure if I like the rear lights on the mudguards, a bracket off the rear block might be better also a split door would be handy on the “baby merlo” just being super picky though there’s no such thing as the perfect machine 👍. Looks a handy tool though.

Hitch twists do of the trailer tips over it won't risk taking the tractor with it. Cheers for answering the cost of that part, bloody expensive!!

So the traler can tilt on uneven surfaces with locking the hitch and straning the towbar and tiltig the towing vehicle

Dose the hitch swivel so if you in a bumpy field it doesn’t twist

The swivel hitch is so you don’t put twisting force on tractor when you turn it on it’s side. Don’t sumo say use solid cat 3 links at all time but they still snap but lucky I only took out one tyre major repair needed. Just looked out widow and it’s snowing what have you done to the weather ?.

Looks like the Merlo was a Friday afternoon build from that paint job. The swivel on the trailer eye is so if the trailer decides to have a lie down the tractor doesn't have to have a lie down with it. Also jammy git got some rain.... still dry as a nuns chuff here

If you tip it over then you won’t break the draw bar (I’ve had experience of doing that)

if the trailer is going to go over on its side, that hitch will stop it pulling the tractor over too

So when you go on uneven ground it can move.

It is incase the trailer is on a slope and the tractors it save snapping the hitch

"mini Merlo" is the wrong word, I'd call it the "micro Merlo" - defo the telehandler equivalent of the Fiat 500 !

The reason for the swivel hitch is because you lot are liable to coup the trailer!
