Red blazes typically mark properly boundaries between 2 parcels of land

Red blazes are most likely National Forest boundary markers.

Sometimes the red marking are used to mark boundary lines showing where private property begins.

I think it was on Day 35 that you asked for audio book recommendations... Mine would be "The Wager" by David Grann.
