There is good gold in VT, Mostly fine but there are little pickers and occasion small nuggets.

Go to areas with known gold and dig around and sample. Eventually you will be able to "read" a river better by noticing trends after awhile. Then you can go to lesser known waterways and find some. Otherwise it is easy to give up and get frustrated. At one point all of New England was covered by glacial ice sheets and so there are trace amounts everywhere.

Gotta keep making the bread.

I have watched their video. The only issue I have with it is there should have been a better way to remove the end to unload it. Other than that it's works great.

Tip never comes off. Unload through the hole by turning it upside down. Works great and fast. Heavy pans.

II tried it that way and I didn't like it that way either. If I unload it that way I have to remove the plunger and the top cap which is even more work than removing the bottom cap and it doesn't unload completely that way. I have since fixed this issue by creating a locking cap for the end. Comes off easy and unload completely and can rinse it off. You will see in upcoming episodes.

I had the same issue. I hear it loosens over time but I find it easier just to dunk the whole thing in a bucket. I fill a bucket half wat with water and just dip it in up and down a few times and it all comes out easy...much easier than trying to get the box out and back in.

Gabrial, block water flow on the skid plate with a weighted bucket. Check for gold caught in the classification plate, rinse into capture tray with gold pan. Then remove the pin, put your thumbs on the exit plate above, and two pointer fingers inside the tray. Push with your thumbs, and pull with your fingers. And ALWAYS be sure to clean the area the capture tray slides into. When that isn’t done, it causes trouble next time you try pulling out the tray. There is no need to remove it from the river. Water flowing in the scoop helps the process, as well as helps when cleaning the area the tray slides into. And Never hesitate to contact me with questions.

@@GreenMountainGoldTrap Thank you Joseph. I forgot about the bucket blocking the water flow. Had terrible tussle pulling the tray out. I love my GMGT. It is a heavy model but I feel that gives it more strength. The shoulder belt helps a lot.
