When you’re putting in the OSB pattresses, have you thought about nailing roofing battens(or strips of wood) to the studs in front of the PIR and then nailing the OSB to the battens? It might save the OSB from splitting and would stop it pushing back against the PIR. Absolutely loving these videos, the advice your are giving for free is absolutely fantastic. Keep up the good work !!!

Love your videos Liam great job again I built mine 4 years ago and did exactly the same with the 100mm insulation in the roof pushed right up but never did the vapour barrier and I've not had so much as 1 spot of mould or any signs of condensation... top job mate

on the hibrid roof, mine will be lived in, and I am even looking at a shower, this is why I will have a ventilation system in there. I am using a central unit, but that is due to the 3.5M I can go in my country. There are also de-central units.

Channel 4's Love It or List It has just shown a garden room foundation. It used the rod system.

Hi Liam, great series so far. Not sure if this question is too detailed for you to cover but if the armoured cable is rcd protected from the house how do you go about rcd protecting the garden room? Is there an rcd in the CU at a different trip current to the rcd supplying the cable?

The roof setup was giving me cold sweats watching you stuff insulation in the eves blocking the cross flow, then i seen the noggins. Your explanation of the "hybrid" roof did make sense but for me if it doesn't work in all situations, occupied or occasional use i wouldn't take the risk. But each to their own...

Hi Oakwood Garden Rooms - Loving the video's - keep up the great work!! ..I have one question around steel beams - how do you know what side beam to get to support the roof structure? I am installing 3.6 m Bi-folds, and the beam will need to support a roof made up of 5x4 roof joists (2x 5x2's bolted together as the room is 3.6m deep) with 18mm OSB & rubber EPDM membrane. I was going to buy a 4m mild steel beam (100 x 60 x 6mm) to sit above the bi-folds, but am not 100% sure if this will suffice. Are you able to advise/provide your thoughts please?

Hi Liam I've been watching you for a while now you and your team do some fantastic work just would like to say is there a reason why you don't use green moisture resistant plasterboard and use upside-down joist hangers on the back wall? Have you ever ran electric above ground? As far as I can tell, this is acceptable as long as its fitted to a permentnat structure, but was interested if you had a video of that.

I don't think I realised how loud impact drivers are when when I used them but I sure do when watching the vids. haha

What are your thoughts on under floor heating in these builds instead of a wall mounted heater? Loving this series and looking forward to the next!

Could I ask why you don’t use the kingspan roof panels as a system instead of the other methods, as it seem well suited to garden rooms and has added benefits such as not having to construct the roof joists and not having to use the rubber membrane roofing?

Are you restricted in the spots you can use given the limited void space in the roof?

Hi Liam. I have a shed that I want to insulate 10x8. The stud is 45mm. Do I have to insulate with 45mm insulation or can I insulate with less ie 25mm If yes do I push the boards back as you did I have no vapour barrier as it’s a normal but decent shed. Cheers

Is 15mm osb too small for the roof also any recommendation wear to get pir boards

Hi Liam. Your video's have been my bible whilst doing my build which started in January last year. Nearly finished it, 11.5M x 4.5M built under PD, and been approved by Building Reg's and Planning. It has been seperated into 4 rooms including a Gym, Sauna and Hot Tub. Got an idea for you. You have video's covering just about everything and must be running out of idea's. Why don't you do a mini tour of other people's builds so that you can give your expert advice and criticism. Starting with mine 😉

Can you confirm how much the timber and materials would have roughly cost for this build. Just an approximate idea would be good to know

Hi Liam, great videos, I’ve watched loads and think they’re mega, can I ask, in yesterday’s video you filled the walls with 50mm insulation and todays the roof is filled with 100mm, why do walls only require half the insulation that the roof does?

The rigid insulation has "vapor" barrior, and the plastic vapor barrior and air spoace are not well thought out if fasct incorrect

Maybe its something you want to keep to the end, or dont want to really discuss, however, I was wondering what you think the approx build cost will be for materials and a build pack - I understand that materials prices can fluctuate just a rough guide. Loving the videos, and feel disappointed when you say your having a day off.

Ever tried sticking the insulation to the roof? E.g. like tiling and create a vapor barrier. This would stop anyone moaning about possible issues? Not an expert though.

Are you using more screws than normal as your not using a nail gun?
