They dont have Pizza Planet in Texas brudda. The beach in my ends is full of flesh-eating bacteria (literally). Compared to Galveston TX, VBVA is literally heaven.

I have lived in Virginia Beach for more than 40 years.I drive through that "scary tunnel" 2 or 3 times a year to visit family up North .You should definitely visit in the summer. Ocean Breeze Water Park and the Marine Science Museum / Aquarium are fun places to go and only a couple of minutes from the Oceanfront .

Yayyy!! Lifetime VB resident here, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay! A lot of the locals can feel a bit burnt out by being so used to having all of these things around us, it can be easy to forget what it feels like to experience it all for the first time!

Naw, I stay in Portsmouth close to Norfolk. It’s a lot of gem homes and hood neighborhoods. People walking dogs, kids riding bikes etc

I’m surprised you went through the tunnel at the actual listed speed maintenance. Usually traffic gets jammed because someone freaks out going down the tunnel and slows down to 25-30 mph, or someone decides to pass a car in the lane and learns that you can’t do that the hard way. Born in NoVa but raised in VB for over 20 years. I love VB but it’s not all sunshine and roses here. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay though.

I live in VA Beach and in summer/early fall they usually have a carnival there. The ferris wheel is totally worth it and the views are pretty. Def recommend.

l left years ago for college and l am definitely returning. It has changed so much in 30 years but l still love it when l visit and it’s slower paced than the fast paced cities of New York and DC.

Correct and l understand it’s all relative having lived in larger metropolitan cities and traveled extensively for work. l am good with coming back to Virginia Beach. It’s definitely not the same as when l left however it’s way less expensive than where l live now , less crowded and l love the beach (fishing, crabbing, etc). Yes l have been to and can afford to retire to what other people consider “nicer beach towns” but Virginia Beach is home for me.

Oh dude it's crazy too! Parking is like 20 bucks if you're a tourist, and even if you wanna go grab a Slice of Pizza at Benny's it's like 6 bucks. Crazy expensive

It's all highway driving until about 5 blocks from the oceanfront. Even if they did drop off the highway here and there you only need to avoid the areas where "those people" live and you'll be fine.

I live here. The tunnels in Hampton Roads do not leak. There are many reasons water gets on your car in the tunnel - mostly from other cars.

Va Beach-Portsmouth Resident. I drive through this tunnel twice a day. There has never ever been “a leak”. When you drive through if you see water look up, theres an air duct system prob pushing ALOT of the humidity through.

Wild to se people in my area! Hope you enjoyed even in the off season the oceanfront always has people lol. The tunnel, hrbt, is wild tho one time it’s was actively leaking and mfker was starting to flood and I’ve never seen it like that. I hope they see the issue of it leaking so much recently and fix it.
