I just started 3 days ago and I love it honestly. My managers aren’t micromanaging me, they just come around to see if we need anything. I can wear whatever I want. There’s plenty of room to grow and advance. It’s easy to stand out as a good worker because so many people quit because they can’t handle the physicality.

It is important for UPS customers to watch this, so they understand that you don't have time to check for markings such as "FRAGILE" and "DO NOT LAY FLAT" and there is no substitute for good, sound packaging; and you can see the boxes get tossed around. They think theirs will always be on the top of the pile in the truck.

lol if you think this is being tossed around you'd hate the hub I work at. everything is manual there. the way they just slide those packages onto another belt? doesn't happen, we pick each package up and move it by hand. we have conveyors coming out of our unload bays but use the gravity fed rollers that go into the trailers being loaded. and our small sort is all done 100% by hand too. you sort from memory and the bagger scans everything on their side as they bag.

I am a irreg splitter, meaning I split irregular packages, usually weighing over 70lbs to different PDs. PDs being the areas where the trailers park and you have 24 or so trailer doors to load packages. In my hub we only have PD3 PD4 PD5 and PD6 since it’s a new hub. I have to read labels on every package coming through the belt to see which PD they go to.. hence splitting them to different areas. Example a package comes in the label will read. PD3 door 304, I will send it to PD3 and whoever works at PD3 will load the package to door 304. I realize I’m over explaining but I hope you understand haha.

@@BigBen1994 lol idk why I didn't see this when you posted it but yeah, being a woman working there was absolutely hell. I was in management for 2 of my 3+ years with the company and it never got better. My tipping point was that my "direct report" supervisor got mad and yelled at me in the middle of the sort for asking a question that he didn't have a good answer to during our pre sort meeting lmfao but I watched other supervisors repeatedly threaten to do a "70lb lift test" on day 2 of training for grown women they didn't want to train and then turn around and baby some super weak and/or lazy 19 yr old boys for weeks just because they went to school together or had common interests. Super biased, I got into management thinking I could make it better for the next girl but it truly just made me miserable. Only good thing that came out of working there was meeting my current boyfriend who treats me amazing.

I worked at Fedex for 5 months, and I practically did everything, served as a tugger, loaded and unloaded Trucks, splitter for the belt and watch tower conveyer belt, loaded cages, and honestly it could be marketed as easy but management and the way things went ruined everything. Fedex is so out of date with how it runs things and constantly shoots itself in the foot with not knowing how to do things.

You’re a package handler whether you’re unloading, sorting, smalls, loading trucks/trailers/planes etc. If you move boxes, that’s a package handler. A lot of hubs only sort and load the brown trucks for delivery. The bigger hubs do that too but they also load semi trucks or airplanes that are then sent all over to smaller hubs for delivery

@seaneditingHD
@seaneditingHD 9 ай бұрын
@@josegarza7719 Amazon was chill but too repetitive, good pay good hours, but no life. I left because I couldn’t see the sun 🌞 but it’s great to stack up some money! FedEx is a very ass-kissing job favoritism job, you gotta be cool with management and it’s more close knit 🧶 so if you just mind your own business and do your job you’ll be good but management is always watching you. It’s a lot to explain, you’ll have to actually work there and you’ll form an opinion but this is mine. My bad I had to think of this really fast lol.

As far as recommendations…. Don’t expect your job to look like this video! Part time new hires usually start loading package cars or semi’s, it is very intense and hard work.
