Today is the first day alone with our baby Owen while Jim heads back to work! I thought I would document the the day and share a little day in the life as a new mom on maternity leave! I am also sharing a bit more about my experience with a FTM birth story. I hope you enjoy!

I had to laugh when you organized your snacks in the bedroom, I’m the same way like things together all going the same way…lol I don’t care if it’s in a cabinet, closet or what ever it has to be symmetrical. My family makes fun of me all the time. Love your channel Sophie 💕

Omg! Soooo cute! Also, we didn’t use buttons and my son was so against buttons as a kid. As an adult he wears them of course. So funny. I took 14 weeks off and I was so sad to go back and put him in daycare. But it was okay. He is a well adjusted sophomore at Colorado State University about to major in business or finance

Seriously, what is cuter than a baby sleeping ? Owen is simply adorable ! I miss the feeling of holding something so tiny and vulnerable in my arms...I remember my first day alone with my baby...I was a nervous wreck ! But you are doing so great Sophie ! Enjoy every second with this little man...he is so very precious. 🥰 Keep it up mama ! 🤗

I remember sitting and holding my 2 babies and watching them sleep. I also held and talked to them while they were awake. I’d often sing as well. Those memories are priceless. Enjoy ❤️

You are such a great mommy Sophie! Helpful tip: baby oil and a baby comb takes up the cradle cap great and its alot cheaper then those fancy cradle cap creams.Just massage a bit on the cradle cap,then take the baby comb and gently comb upward.The cradle cap comes right up.

Motherhood looks wonderful on you, Sophie! Congratulations again on your adorable baby boy! My son had cradle cap too and I found the Mustela Newborn Foam Shampoo and Fridababy Dermafrida worked wonders for us. Just a little tip if you’re needing to get anything for it. So happy you’re doing well and settling into your new routine. ❤️

Congratulations on the birth of your little one 🤗😊!!! I LOVE his name, I think it’s perfect! I DID enjoy today’s video and I think you are doing FABULOUS in what you are accomplishing! You were spot on though when you mentioned you will try to nap while he is-it’s important! You have been my inspiration as I foray into the territory of reorganizing. I’ve begun with my spices (must start small) and I have a question or two. When you bulk purchase your herbs and spices do you order or purchase locally. Do you prefer organic? Do you put a ‘Best By’note in each spice/herb bottle or keep track of that information in some other way? If you have any bulk containers with something still in them where do you store them? My process will be rather slow as I really am starting from scratch. I have decanted most of my herb/spices but need to order another batch of bottles. I can’t wait to purchase the OXO containers for my pantry as it obvious to see their value despite being expensive (worth it)! I’m enjoying this all immensely. Thank you for everything you share and it’s easy to see you are appreciating the time with Owen! Kudos to a good Husband/Dad!!!

See if you have banana flavored almond milk in your area. It’s FANTASTIC in smoothies. I also use a little fruit juice instead of water. It gives it the sweetness instead of needing a different sweetener like sugar or honey.

What a great mom you are!! It all looks good on you!! Surely, his poo has no real odor. I would suggest saving those bag until when he begins eating.food. You will REALLY need them then.

Love your relaxed way with Owen. So sweet. Am sure he feels it as well. FYI. The current thinking on naps is that they should be fifteen to twenty minutes, no more. A couple of them a day can go a long way to keeping your energy up and mood even. So substitute a nap instead of linking up your snacks in a row. Far better ROI.

Owen is such a sweet, sweet baby and you are a natural at motherhood! I am so glad everything is going well. One question - not baby related... how do you clean your lettuce? I noticed that you cut the lettuce right from the bunch and didn't wash it. I am always looking for better and more efficient ways of doing things. Thank you. 😊

Also… mom of 7 here 🙋🏼‍♀️ Best thing for cradle cap is baby oil, but look for the baby oil gel so it isn’t runny. I think it comes lavender scented to help with sleep.

Well you look like an old pro at motherhood. My youngest daughter is now 26 years old so it has been awhile for me. Enjoy all the little moments. It sure went fast. I would do all over again if it was possible.
