I do wonder why it happens to so many young male dancers at once. Is it because of the makeup, didn’t clean hands before applying, types of food eating, or sth else? There has to be a reason. Doesn’t appear to be individual health conditions since many of them are developing this together. Also I wonder where they have sought help from dermatologist. I know for serious breakouts, medications such as antibiotics and some other treatment do help. One chemical I remember called rentinoic acid seems working really well. Problem with medication is often once you stop using it the breakout quickly comes back.

I do understand the insecurity dancers are having because of the acne issue. A good healthy and smooth skin adds to the attractiveness of a dancer and the physical appearance means so much to them.

I love how you guys nonchalantly dismissed that nasty person who commented about your skin. Why are people so mean and miserable? Acne will go away. You are young, positive, and talented with a bright future. That is what matters.

Unfortunately, there are just a lot of people out there that are so miserable, they either want others to be miserable too (thus, the nasty comments) or being rude and/or nasty simply makes THEM feel better. I don't know how it could, or how making other folks feel bad is enjoyable to anyone, but I can't wrap my brain around the way a LOT of people think... and I'm glad for that!

As you figured out, if you haven't got acne, you're probably old. Having done both - relax about the acne. A funny thing is that no one who is young realizes how great they actually look.

Hey, I'm older than carbon yet of course I remember having skin issues into my 20's. It's completely weird to me how a few people seem so obsessed with details of a creators appearance on You Tube. I think they have mental problems or self-assurance issues themselves. Hey, it was SO EXCITING seeing you and the company taking your bows in that clip from the end of the performance! I love that! 👏👏👏

Honestly ballet dancers work so hard! As a musical theatre dancer, we do get the whole day off before a show. Of course we perform 8 times a week, and many of us still go to the gym in the morning (and there is an occasional rehearsal), but its not nearly as much as ballet dancers in professional companies do.

I think it’s inspiring that you show your face as it is. Most people need to see it and more people need to do it so it can be normalized and not a big deal. We all deal with body issues. Thinks like hairgrowth, acne, scars and stretch marks need to be shown more! Our ”flaws” makes us interresting. We are always beautiful, none the less. You’re brave and it is a joy to watch your videos!

Another great video; I really love these ("like" doesn't do them justice). You're so natural and open in these, no hiding, no fakery, nothing but pure unalloyed Tristan. Your willingness to talk about topics like skin problems and body dysmorphia, about being gay and what that means, about your day and your week, about your diet and your friends and your adventures; this is a real, live ballet dancer talking to us about himself and his life. My fave . . . .

I'm rather old, and never write a mean comment ! You know, your personality shines, you have a beautiful soul and great balance, so much that I never noticed your acné, dear ^^ Also, thiis Bolero choreography is so amazing and intense. The first time I saw it was in a movie by French director Claude Lelouche "Les uns et les autres", in 1981. The movie helped to make that choreography (and Béjart) popular. I was twelve years old and I was deeply moved. I'll never forget that impression. I'd like to see a live performance of it some day...
