Ya, it eventually corrodes, but sometime takes a lot of time. Best is to use dielectric unions. Second best is to use brass in the steel line. I just remember being called on it by an inspector lol

First off I wanna say I’m super appreciative of your support after just stumbling onto the channel! 1. They are both great, I like to use pex for water supplies throughout a house kind of thing. Any boiler work I try to stick to copper! 2. The only real way to fix the hot water issue would be to have what they call a “hot water recirculation” system installed that’s always moving the water around. Thanks again for the support!! 👨🏻‍🔧💪🏼

The m12 radio is great, I actually really like that I can charge my batteries with the radio, saves bringing in a charger. I hear you they are expensive. If you do enough copper work the payoff is there with the time savings. I don’t own one myself but if I had my own business I would definitely make the investment!

Hey! Great question. So basically you should use them technically on dissimilar metals whenever possible. But I will say when it comes to boiler piping in New England you will see this kind of thing all the time and usually it’s not an issue. It’s not a special fitting I’m using just a copper adapter. I will say check with someone that knows your specific local code and see what they say! I hope this helps.

I’m not sure over there because I’m in NH but I would imagine it’s pretty fair. It took a four year apprenticeship where I live to obtain my journeyman’s license. Less than another year and I was able to get my masters.

@@BlueCollarBiceps fair I’m on the service side. When I did new construction it just wasn’t worth bringing in another tool just to cut copper.

I hear you there man that can be a hassle when you already have a bunch of tools to bring in!

This is the proper way to apply Teflon tape. I am going around in the right hand direction. So when the fitting is tightened the tape doesn’t peel off

I have one apprentice right now and I try my best to show him everything I know and the reason we do certain things.
