I do think if they develop this further though the pets should be able to cling to larger dragons. I can't see a thornback keeping up with a asd or shadowscale otherwise.

Oh for sure. Jao has said he is looking into giving dragons the ability to pick up pets as well as a summon and dismiss mechanic which basicly will let you 'store' the pet when not directly in use

@@bartman156. Nope, the thornback will bury itself underground. Then when you want to recall it it will be summoned from the ground.

This seems fun! but please dont make or let the trading pets be the only main focus of the game, I've seen plenty of other games with a bunch of potential but as soon as the devs add a pet trading or even just a trading system the games main focus turns into getting trying to get the greatest and trading that.

I don't think there is any risk of that, particularly with players only able to have one pet at a time, it completely removes the ability to collect pets which is often where players get drawn in.

I can only really see that sort of thing happening on pve servers if at all. I imagine most people on pvp servers will chew up any pets they can just for the fun of it.

They really are. I only have clowns and some wild caught scabers at the moment (really pretty oranges coming through that I'm trying to breed true)

Maybe in the future the different pets could give different very minor buffs and certain creatures with slightly butter buffs could have harder taming rituals?

I think they are leaning away from buffs and looking more into little utilitys. Buffs mean that everyone needs one to be on the meta. Fun little gimicks on the other hand are optional

Still just an early system as the Devs want to get feedback from the community to develop something thats mostly just for some fun and outside most of the core gameplay.

Yup, it's recently been added as an official feature, though is still basic at the moment while they work on the main game and gather feedback on what people want to see with them.

Very cute... but why? XD??? if they are still killable in the game and out in the wild... they die to a bite or 2... how does this help? I'm not crapping on the idea, but I'm genuinely curious as to how this would help these massive reptiles. lol

Nothing more then a fun little feature. Many people won't bother with it but there will be others that love the challenge of keeping a pet alive or searching and trading for a particular colour.

More tameable creatures are planned for the future but likely not anything too big...though who knows for the Behemoths

Will biolumin be free to play or a kickstarter key ?

The Biolumin can only be spawned by someone with a Kickstarter key but they can be played by anyone. You just need to be nested in. Nesting is a massive part of the game as it gives you access to the best stats and most customisation for you dragon.

@@coltonmorales9911 The Kickstarter ended almost 4 years ago. As of now it's almost impossible. You will still be able to play the Biolumin though. There are entire Discord servers set up to help spread the little cosmetic dragon to everyone, even onto small private servers.

I like invert pets and think isopods and mantises are cute (thanks for the vids), thornbacks are still kind of gross to me and belong in a BBQ.

There will be three new AI coming into the game with the 1.0 update, all much bigger then then two bug like AI we currently have

Gameplay is also being added, this was just a little feature Jao realized he could add while he was working on some other code what lined up (maybe adding more utility to emotes to cut down on Inputs). The pet system is just going to be something very simple to start off, likely until they have had more feedback in how players want it to develop.

Plenty being worked on, In fact the Dev saw a way to use the code he was working on for something else and modify it to get the pets working. A happy accident, though he has always planned to have pets.
