@Mike Lanser These are more of guidelines than strict rules. I believe most of the time he tries to trade stocks over $10 with 1 Million in average daily volume that are gapping greater than 3%. You need to also be very aware of the bid ask spreads as some stocks can meet all of the criteria but the spread makes it unwise to trade. Obviously, it varies based on the intraday movement and the trade setup.

Hi james, I don't trade US stocks. These are European regulated CFDs. I can use market orders because CFDs have several advantages: Unlimited liquidity (therefore: no slippage) no shorting restrictions (including IPOs), no PDT rule, fast execution, 20:1 margin, You are welcome to trade it too if you join our Funded Accounts program: www.tradenet.com/funded-trading-accounts/ (for non-US persons only)

he trades CFD's so he's not actually buying and selling the stock. Using CFD's allows for significant leverage so while the total share value may have been around $2 million, the amount he would have in his account in order to execute the trade would be significantly lower. Perhaps $200k maybe less, leverage varies by broker.

It's respectable if it's true but I think it's insane. In my opinion, you risked way more than 40k if you were leveraged at a 20:1 ratio.

@@chillin374 if the stop is 10 dollars and he had 4000 shares that equals a 40K risk (10x4000=40,000) The leverage doesnt matter in that equation, only in what it gives him for buying power. So no, the risk was only 40k.

S Nash In a perfect world he only risked 40k. You obviously didn't understand what I was saying. With a stock that moves as fast as TSLA, a stop can fail miserably. Ive seen TSLA reverse and go $10-30 in the opposite direction in seconds. All I'm saying is "theoretically" he risked 40k but in reality he risked way more than 40k if he is leveraged at a 20:1 ratio. I don't understand how you can say he didn't. The majority of the money that he is trading with is not his lol. Need I say more...
