Join me on a cruise ship excursion to Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan.
We dock in the port city of Keelung with its bustling streets, harbour and see the Goddess of Mercy statue towering high on a hill over the city.
The coach takes approximately 45 minutes to the centre of Taipei. We pass the densely packed blocks of flats on the way, a stark contrast to the centre - a cosmopolitan city of wide boulevards and plaza's. The famous Taipei 101 looms large as the once tallest building in the world. It houses a high end shopping mall on the lower floors along with offices, restaurants and bars.
A great day trip to get a flavour of this fascinating city.
