We had to ensure that there are no long-term side-effects to fertility, the vaginal microbiome, vaginal PH levels, etc. that were caused by the cannabinoid formulation. We first started our clinical validation journey with human studies, and only conducted one-off animal studies after it was explicitly requested by regulators. We fought back and made sure we had to do only the bare minimum of animal studies by replacing some of the animal studies with artificial human skin studies."
