On the pick up truck conversation. A lot of the ones you see now actually have a smaller cargo bed than the much smaller over all older ones because they're basically big ass cars with a bed for... something. Few people ever use them, you're better off getting a station wagon if you need to sometimes move things, many actually have more space than these oversized pickups. They're just lower down and have better over the hood visibility.

When I picked the game back up recently I did something similar. No mods, but I wanted the nomadic mobile home experience. So i found a nice astro van and made that my home, you can store a surprising amount of loot if you utilize all the seats. I kept all my quick access gear in the glovebox, and my passenger seat was loaded with food and ammo. I slept in beds occassionally but I tried to reduce sleep overall by starting as a security guard and night owl, just sorta kept it moving and tried to secure as many gas stations as possible

I would love if, or when they rework the aiming and shooting system that they would do something similar to Darkwood. A bit more skill based and player driven but also able to be affected by rpg elements.^^

the thing you were talking about with mods and the devs was kinda the same with KSP. the mod community for KSP is friggin' awesome..they'd come up with absolutely amazing mods, that made the game so much more playable, and Squad would take notice of these mods, and end up incorporating their functionality into future updates, making the vanilla game so much better. It would also make your load time so much shorter, because as they added functionality, you could eliminate the mods.

Not sure if it works, but you can probably tow the caravan with the van if you feel like it's too fast and nimble for you on it's own. It would give you a lot of storage space if you fill the caravan with crates though. :)

If you can hitch that trailer (caravan) to the back of the RV, you would have your own land-train, almost... You would have an additional door blocking device, at the very least, with a little more trailer-steering practice (there should be books and videos for that, you would think)... Just remember, they always know, right when you are weakest, or least suspecting 😃

If You Don't Want To Use Mods And Want The Kind Of Horde Mod In Base Zomboid You Can Go To The Sandbox Settings And Turn The Helilcopter Event From Once To Sometimes To Kind Of Imitate The Horde Mod

The thing with "bulletproof", is that it actually is, depending on what type of "bulletproof" thing it is.. like, your plate carrier, for example... depending on what the plate is made of, it is, literally, bulletproof, to a point. If you're talking something like an AR500 plate, it's easily going to be able to stop most pistol calibers, and even some rifle calibers. however, if it's just a vest, they're gonna be made of Kevlar, and, while nowhere near as robust as a plate, they will easily stop 9mm, and .45, among other things...it's gonna knock the wind out of you, and hurt like a bitch, but it will save your life. As a rule, straight kevlar vests are more "bullet resistant" than "bullet proof", and the opposite is true of plates. Of course, everything has it's limits, and even a plate will eventually fail, but depending on what's hitting it, it'll take quite a few hits, before it does fail.
