I love that they brought this back to the arcades. I have one near my house and go and play often. Of course I always choose the classic maps.

They've finally put the actual Daytona International Speedway as a map for the game which Toshihiro Nagoshi got inspired from.

Virtuaracing , Daytona 93 , and Sega rally 95 are my best memories in gaming . Perfect visuals , superb driving and a soundtrack to remember the rest of my live , and absolute fun , sorry but much beter than my ps4 . VR race games are perfect but i miss the fun , there is no fun at all , only excellent driving I miss exelent arcade gaming in the style of the 90 , Ps4 games i play only a moment . Sega rally , daytona and virtua racing , i can play forever. Not many tracks and cars , but perfect fun for a short time , the rest of my live .

That's exactly how I used to see this game on my Saturn decades ago. Still one of my favorite racing games!

The new takes on the old Sega Daytona music are boppin'. Especially the Victory Lane and Game Over music. Edit: I just realized that Three-Seven Speedway, Dinosaur Canyon, and Seaside Street Galaxy are the tracks from Daytona USA.

The car models differ depending on the track such as Chevrolet Lumina on Daytona International Speedway ®/Three Seven Speedway, Toyota Camry and Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Lakeside Castle Speedway/Dinosaur Canyon.

This iteration of Daytona USA might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I absolutely fell in love with it ever since I first played it. It’s a very well-made reimagining of the original with nice visuals and extra features (mirrored/rethemed courses and a difficult Championship mode). It’s always a must-play whenever I hit the arcade.

I remember when this was still called Daytona 3 and people WERE NOT HAPPY. Yet, after a simple rebranding from a sequel to a remake of the first game, people are more positive to the game now.

I'm glad they retained so much about the original and didn't cater to every 16 y/o's whim based on what's cool in video gaming for the next 15 minutes. Huh, it's essentially an HD remaster of Daytona USA 2001 from the Dreamcast except with new tracks and some new music. A lot of elements and shots are 1-1 with the Dreamcast entry. Granted there's nothing wrong with going with that approach since the 2001 was pretty great, but it feels a bit dishonest when they billed this as a wholly brand new game from scratch...

lol im the guy who recommended this to him, it was some time ago, and i kinda wanted to see him drove again in this "remake" of the classic, and as i expected, he did worse but still kept a very solid racing most of the time, about the game though, im a bit disappointed because theres nothing new other than cars, graphics, interface, a live camera, and shorter laps? but i still kinda want it, since other than that, there are no downgrades to this game comparing to the old ones, but it could have been better, good thing the music is modifiable, and maybe in the near future, the game could become easy enough for hackers to add more tracks to this game as well other elements of their desire.

How did you manage to run it at 60 FPS? What settings did you use? I have an 3900x and Nvidia Zotac Black Extreme 1080ti edition and I get only get 30 FPS. 😕

If Daytona Championship USA ever gets a home release, they need to let us choose which car we want to drive, and not force us to use the modern cars or just give us two cars with preset transmissions per track. Also they should bring back the cars from Daytona USA 2 and the Daytona USA 1 multiplayer cars with the classic and modern car styles.

Everything looked awesome until the car model tail didn't bob up n down . N no exaggerated spin on partially exposed tires. What absolute waste. Is there a patch that can fix?

Overall I quite like this version, but they've made some really lazy/bizarre decisions when making it - no 4-way shifter, shitty mirrored "new" courses, D2001 music, reduced initial lap amounts, combining the map and the radar... Looks nice though.

For some reason, the last time I was playing DC USA, the Advanced and Expert tracks had one less lap count than what you raced with in the single race mode. Maybe it's a different setting?

Have you ever heard about the PlayStation game called Floating Runner: Quest for the 7 Crystals? It was short game and it was developed by Kokopeli Digital Studios and published by Xing Entertainment in 1996.

I have a weird problem with this, its locked at 40fps full screen, but when I take it windowed its 75fps. MSI GT72VR 6RE.

They ruined the ascent up Dinosaur Canyon towards the tunnel by lowering the cliffs. That was one of the best parts of the track feeling like you were being funnelled upwards. And they replaced Jeffrey with Akira. Makes no sense, it's a tropical seaside course, that's why Jeffrey is there. Just shows the people who worked on it had no real understanding of what they were doing.

A game made by people who have no idea what made the original so special. Also, for a widescreen aspect ratio about half of it is covered by UI!!! Just look at the speedo, so much dead space between the speed counter and the rev counter. The icons up the left side (not needed at all) cover the lap counter... wtf.

I hope Sega makes a new Outrun game.
