Every departure needs an arrival and this video features the arrival and approach from the previous video showing this flight's departure from Atlanta. Here is the departure video: • Gate to Departure Gate...
In this video we start off entering the state of Florida then pick up the TTHOR Arrival procedure and get vectored for an approach over the "The World's Most Famous Beach". As always the video is explained in detail.
If you are on a commercial flight and your aircraft has WiFi, I can be available to you to “narrate” your flight via text message keeping you situationally aware throughout the flight. For details, send an email to NYCATC@gmail.com

Peter, The main runway 7L/25R at DAB is closed for electrical reinstallations, continuously until June 6. It would be a great video to fly in and out while they're exclusively using 6,000 ft Runway 16/34. Air traffic is super tight, because they can't use (normal student practice) Runway 7R/25L at the same time. The airliners and bizjets have to be carefully worked in with the large number of flight school training aircraft.

I heard about that but I don’t have any trips to or from DAB booked :(

Really enjoyed this episode, Peter. I’m a former ERAU student so I was glad to see the old airport again. I was an engineering student in the late 70’s (I remember Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville was a big hit during my freshman year). It was so cool to have a college campus on an airport. Everybody at the school loved aviation regardless of whether they were pilot students or something else. I recall many of the flight students were foreigners. Saudi students were particularly in high attendance during my time. Hope we didn’t train the 9/11 criminals. Anyway, thanks for a great episode that brought back some old college memories!

You flew on a Boeing and go there there safely? Miracles do happen!

Yes, and I wasn't concerned about safety at all. The car ride from the airport was the risky part!

That was cool! I love aviation. Peter, you could be an air traffic controller. Not exaggerating either. It sounds to me as if you know enough about how planes operate. You should be one of those controllers in the tower. Peace.

Thanks! I'm way past the maximum age cutoff to become an air traffic controller. But I did apply when I was younger.

@@PeterMasella oh ok. I'm 58. I didn't know there was an "age limit" for that proffesion. And it's not an easy job. I have a friend that took the test and he told me that he scored a 90%. Whatever that means? But the point is; that wasn't good enough. I think you're required to get every question correct. Every one! No mistakes allowed. That's how he made it sound anyways. But I could understand that if it's true. I love aviation too. I'm presently studying on how to tell commercial planes apart. Like a 737 from a A320. Or a 767 from a A330. You know, like that. They are all similar looking these days. Except the A340 and A380 are easy. They have 4 engines. Thanks for the reply. Many don't do that. So thankyou.

If I recall, I think Delta, or Delta Connect, had service from Daytona to LaGuardia at one point. I guess they discontinued it. And I am guessing JetBlue served JFK?

I know JetBlue had JFK-DAB service several years ago but I don't recall anything from LGA on Delta. I think Eastern and AirTrain had service at one point. Delta, however added a flight or two from LGA to DAB a few weeks ago just for the purposes of bringing people to Daytona Beach for the Daytona 500 race. But it was a one time event.

@@PeterMasella maybe that was what it was for in the past. The LGA to DAB was for the Dayton 500.
