These whale should be relocated to the SeaLife Trust Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland. There are already 2 beluga whales there living freely in a large sea pen and being cared for and there's room for 8 more whales. These amazing creatures aren't ours to exploit for profit. They should be swimming freely in the ocean or at least in a sanctuary where they don't have to swim with people or do stupid tricks to entertain the public.

I think we’d all prefer to only see these animals in the open ocean, but please remember that as long as they are properly cared for, seeing these animals up close, teaches people how important it is to do the right thing by all wildlife. Kids especially learn to love and respect creatures they get to see up close. In the long run, hopefully all species of animals will be off the endangered list. Bless

@@rayyanibrahim451 I want to add to this as well so people reading this do not get the wrong idea..Juno wasn’t “captured” but SAVED when he was a baby Beluga. They originally wanted to release him but realized that due to underlying medical reasons he cannot go back into the wild and probably wouldn’t survived, part of that reason is because he doesn’t have the capability to hunt for food, so they decided to send him to the Mystic aquarium to give him a good life, which he has had for many years. He also is the only beluga that I am aware of that likes to go up to the aquarium window and see the people due to his unique curiosity. People come and play music for him all the time by playing music on their phones, various instruments, etc. which he seems to enjoy. All three belugas have a very nice size enclosure, plenty of space, good food to eat and lots of love from the staff and the people that come to see them. Trust me Juno is in good hands!

So please do not worry that these animals were taken from their families against their will.

Not true for this aquarium. Juno was found orphaned and couldn’t be rehabilitated to the wild. Only then was he brought to Mystic. Juno’s tank mate was found missing a fin and was brought in after it was found that she couldn’t swim fast enough to escape predators or feed herself. Mystic’s beluga tank is meant for 10 whales. When I went this summer, it only had two whales. This is because they only take in whales that need the help. Mystic is backed by many environmentalists for a reason. They’re changing over to using clean energy to run the facility. They only take in beluga whales and sea lions that are too injured or weak to survive in nature. (birth defects or injured from our fishing nets and pollution.) They do important research on these animals. Mystic also releases their financial records every year and are very transparent on the fact that their money goes straight towards wildlife conservation and research.
